A meeting was held with the students studying food engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU)\u00a0 and the representatives of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AFSI).<\/p>\n

The presentations were given on the topics of “Harms of sugar”, “Sugar substitutes” and “Importance of fruit and vegetables on the daily diet” at the meeting\u00a0 within the campaign of the “Reduce sugar, extend your lifespan!”<\/p>\n

It was noted that the campaign is being implemented in order to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population and to encourage citizens to eat healthy, including the consumption of sugar in accordance with the norm.<\/p>\n

It was specially emphasized that, the\u00a0 excessive use of sugar in the human body may cause some problems like cardiovascular diseases, II type diabetes, obesity, tooth decay, attention deficit and allergic reactions in children, a reduce in cognitive ability in adolescents, weakening of the immune system, and an increase in the probability of some types of cancer.<\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting, the students’ questions were answered.<\/p>\n
