Held at the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute on the Application of European and Turkish Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, with Associate Professor G\u00fcltekin Co\u015fkun, head of the National Ground Safety Institute (UZGE) located in the technopark of Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by Vilay\u0259t V\u0259liyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Mehmet \u015eim\u015fir, Vice-Rector of Turkey-Azerbaijan University (TAU), as well as representatives of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND).<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, information was presented about AzMI\u2019s areas of activity, service sectors, measurement and calibration capabilities, existing calibration and verification laboratories, and newly established reference laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>Later, G\u00fcltekin Co\u015fkun spoke about the development of engineering and safety standards being implemented, discussed methods and equipment used to measure slip frequency on indoor floors in both public and private sectors, and outlined the key international standards applied during such measurements.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the meeting, discussions were held on the application of European and Turkish standards related to pedestrian infrastructure safety, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EN 16165 \u201cDetermination of slip resistance of pedestrian surfaces \u2013 Test methods\u201d<\/li>\n<li>TS 13882 \u201cClassification rules for pedestrian surfaces \u2013 General requirements and test methods\u201d<\/li>\n<li>EN 14231:2003 \u201cNatural stone test methods \u2013 Determination of slip resistance by means of a pendulum tester\u201d<\/li>\n<li>EN 13036-4:2011 \u201cRoad and airfield surface characteristics \u2013 Test methods \u2013 Part 4: Measurement of slip\/skid resistance by the pendulum test\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, discussions were held on allowing AzTU and TAU students to use AzMI laboratories for scientific research, preparing new projects in the field of metrology, and expanding cooperation in this area.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, the parties reviewed topics related to mutual cooperation and the application of relevant international experience in
