Databricks Engineer Conducts Seminar for AzTU Students
A seminar was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, featuring Mohammad Valiyev, a Senior Software Engineer at Databricks, one of the world’s leading companies in Big Data. The seminar, attended by bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students studying computer science, computer engineering, and information security, focused on the “Apache Spark” software. Detailed information was provided about its internal components (execution model, stages, tasks) and its application in solving various problems, including audio and video file analysis. The seminar also covered how to store large volumes of data in cloud technology (e.g., Amazon S3) in Delta Lake format, the internal file structure of Delta Lake, and comparisons with other formats like Apache Iceberg. AzTU Students at International Exhibition
Students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) are representing the university with their startups at two major international exhibitions held at Baku Expo Center: the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro.” AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev visited the university’s stand, showed interest in the students’ startup projects, and wished them success. President Ilham Aliyev Visits AzTU Stand at International Exhibition
On May 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro” at the Baku Expo Center. These exhibitions, now recognized as national brands, are the largest of their kind in the Caspian region within the agriculture and food industries. Participants from many countries, including the USA, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkey, are showcasing their leading agricultural products. As part of the event, President Ilham Aliyev visited the stand of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Selcan Kərimli, a 3rd-year student from the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, introduced the “Nutlab” project to the President. The project was developed in collaboration with AREA Azerbaijan LLC and AzTU.
