Delegation from Chinese International Organization Visits AzTU

A delegation led by Xu Ming, Deputy Director of the Cooperation Department of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) — headquartered in Beijing, China — visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).

The guests met with Professor Subhan Namazov, AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, and other university representatives. Welcoming the delegation, Professor Namazov shared information about AzTU and highlighted the growing collaboration between China and Azerbaijan in education and research, along with other fields.

Xu Ming introduced GEIDCO, emphasizing that the organization aims to contribute to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He explained that GEIDCO brings together public and private energy companies, research institutions, and universities to ensure a sustainable and green global energy supply. The University Alliance under GEIDCO was noted as playing a key role in achieving this mission.

During the meeting, both parties discussed potential joint projects in electrical engineering, scientific events, and expert training between GEIDCO and AzTU.

It’s worth noting that GEIDCO, established in 2016, includes over 1,300 members from 141 countries. Its mission is to promote global energy interconnectivity and ensure electricity demand is met through green energy solutions.
