The delegation of the 2nd meeting of the Skills Development Working Group, established under the regional technical assistance project “Strengthening the Development of Green Skills” within the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program of the Asian Development Bank, held in Baku, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as guests.
The event is jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Ministries of Science and Education.
AzTU Rector Vilayət Vəliyev greeted the foreign guests, representatives of the ministries of science and education and higher education institutions from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Mongolia, and Pakistan. He spoke about the importance of the project and noted that the project will make a significant contribution to the application of “Just Transition,” “Green Skills,” and “Climate-Resilient Smart Agricultural Technologies” in industry across CAREC region countries, as well as to education and research activities in these fields.
During the meeting, a presentation was given on AzTU’s experience in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into education and research. Afterwards, the guests were introduced to the activities of AzTU’s research institutes and centers.
