Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity Research Cluster Established at AzTU

A Research Cluster on Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity has been established at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with the aim of unifying scientific research potential in defense and cybersecurity under a single strategic direction. The cluster seeks to eliminate redundancy in research, integrate modern trends and innovations into a cohesive system, and strengthen collaboration between the government, industry, and university sectors.

The newly established cluster will operate in the following research areas: autonomous systems, unmanned platforms, AI-based control systems, electromagnetic defense technologies, network and information security, AI-based cyberattack detection, protection of SCADA and industrial systems, smart grids, e-mobility, energy security and resilient infrastructure models, as well as Big Data and AI-driven forecasting and risk mitigation for critical systems.

This initiative aims to enhance AzTU’s contribution to the global advancement of science and technology, support digital transformation processes, and strengthen the university’s leading role within the national defense technology ecosystem.

The cluster will serve as a platform fostering synergy in line with research needs in these areas, operating under the coordination of AzTU’s Institute of Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity.
