AzTU Sustainable Development Committee Holds Next Meeting

The Sustainable Development Committee of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held its next meeting to evaluate the work carried out toward the consistent and systematic implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to determine strategic priorities for the upcoming period. The meeting was attended by committee members, heads and representatives of relevant structural units, as well as experts in the field.

During the meeting, the activities implemented in the previous reporting period were widely discussed, and the achieved results were analyzed. The participants evaluated how the implemented initiatives correspond to the principles and targets of sustainable development.

It was noted that a number of purposeful measures have been implemented at the university to promote the institutional application of sustainable development principles, strengthen mechanisms for efficient and rational use of resources, protect ecological balance, and support socio-economic development. In this regard, the implementation of various projects, the organization of awareness-raising and training initiatives, as well as the expansion of sectoral and institutional cooperation were highlighted.

The current situation was also analyzed during the meeting, and existing challenges and possible solutions were discussed. Participants emphasized the importance of improving management and coordination mechanisms, applying innovative approaches, and integrating modern technological solutions to ensure the effective implementation of sustainable development initiatives.

Members of the committee also identified priority areas for the next stage. These include strengthening environmental sustainability, increasing energy efficiency, expanding education and awareness activities, and developing international cooperation. It was also decided to prepare a concrete action plan aimed at initiating new projects and improving the effectiveness of existing programs.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of strengthening supervision over the implementation of adopted decisions, introducing regular monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and establishing a results-oriented reporting system was emphasized. It was noted that the Sustainable Development Committee will continue its activities in a systematic and consistent manner within an institutional framework to ensure the achievement of the university’s strategic sustainable development goals.
