AzTU Delegation Visits Istanbul

A delegation from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) visited Istanbul as part of an academic exchange program. The delegation included Professor Isa Khalilov, Head of the Department of Machine Design, Mechatronics and Industrial Technologies; Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov, Director of the Institute of Industrial Design and Technologies; Professor Rasim Bashirov from the Department of Special Technologies and Equipment; Associate Professor Imran Yolchuyev; Senior Lecturer Shabnam Ismayilova; and Teaching Assistant Ilkin Aliyev from the same department.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation held meetings at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Yildiz Technical University, the Turkey Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects.

During the meeting with ITU Rector Professor Hasan Mandal and the academic staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, discussions focused on conducting joint scientific research, launching certificate programs for young faculty members, and co-supervising doctoral candidates.

The AzTU delegation also visited laboratories of ITU’s Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Automation and Control. Discussions covered the promotion of AzTU’s international scientific journal Machine Science, attracting high-quality submissions, and prospects for publishing joint articles in high–impact-factor international journals.

As part of the visit to Yildiz Technical University, the delegation became closely acquainted with ongoing research at the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics and discussed future directions for cooperation.

At the IEEE Turkey Section, detailed information was provided on the structure of the IEEE system, membership opportunities, and the advantages of access to scientific, technical, and educational resources for members.

During the meeting at the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects, Turkey’s experience in this field was examined in detail. The parties also exchanged views on the possibility of establishing a Chamber of Mechanical Engineers in Azerbaijan based on the Turkish model.
