AZTU Holds Commemoration Event for the National Leader Heydar Aliyev

At Azerbaijan Technical University (AZTU), a commemorative event was held in honor of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, a world-renowned statesman, and the nation’s National Leader.

The event, organized at AZTU’s Heydar Aliyev Center, began with a minute of silence in memory of the leader, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.

During the ceremony, AZTU Rector Vilayet Valiyev and Member of Parliament and Doctor of History Vasif Gafarov spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s services to the Azerbaijani people, his great mission of salvation, and the significant reforms he implemented across all sectors of the country.

It was highlighted that in the early 1990s, following the strong demand of the people, Heydar Aliyev returned to power and saved the country from the threat of collapse. Today’s independent Azerbaijan is the legacy of the National Leader.

Speakers also emphasized that Heydar Aliyev’s visionary policies have ensured the permanence of independence, strengthened statehood, and safeguarded the nation’s cultural and historical heritage. His political course continues today under the leadership of President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.
