An Event Dedicated to International Mother Language Day Held at AzTU

February 21 is celebrated worldwide as International Mother Language Day. On this occasion, a literary and artistic event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).

The event was jointly organized by the Department of Humanities of AzTU and the Student Trade Union Committee. During the event, AzTU Vice-Rector Rashad Aliyev emphasized the crucial role of the mother tongue in enriching a person’s spiritual world, broadening their worldview, and ensuring a high-quality education.

Later, the Head of the Department of Humanities Habib Mirzayev and Ayten Gurbanova, a researcher at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), delivered speeches highlighting that the mother tongue is the most important means in shaping an individual’s personality. In this regard, preserving and further developing our mother tongue is the sacred duty of every citizen. The comprehensive development of the Azerbaijani language and its integration into the system of international relations is the result of the far-sighted policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, aimed at protecting our language. Today, these traditions are successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the 80th anniversary meeting of ANAS was a clear example of the attention he gives to protecting national and moral values in Azerbaijan’s language policy, as well as ensuring the purity and development of the language.

After the speeches, the event continued with an artistic and cultural program.
