An awareness-raising event dedicated to World AIDS Day was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
The event was jointly organized by AzTU’s Communications Department and the Student Youth Organization (SYO). During the event, Emiliya Shahbazova, an infectious disease specialist from the Republican AIDS Control Center, delivered a talk on the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). She provided detailed information on modes of transmission, prevention measures, and treatment options, encouraging students to avoid harmful habits and, most importantly, to acquire accurate and timely knowledge on this issue. Emiliya Shahbazova also explained methods of disease prevention, screening, and treatment.
Following the event, students underwent medical examinations at AzTU’s Student Polyclinic.
