A delegation led by Professor Vilayət Vəliyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), made an official visit to Malaysia. The delegation included AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Sübhan Namazov, and the Director of the Research and Development Department, Bəxtiyar Bədəlov.
The main purpose of the visit was to establish and expand cooperation between AzTU and Malaysia’s leading universities in research, education, and innovation.
During the visit, the delegation toured top Malaysian universities such as the University of Malaya, MARA University of Technology, National University of Malaysia, Asia-Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, INTI International University, and the International Islamic University Malaysia. Meetings focused extensively on cooperation opportunities, especially in engineering, information technology, innovation, experience exchange, and joint initiatives to improve international rankings.
At the University of Malaya, Professor Vilayət Vəliyev emphasized AzTU’s international partnership strategy, highlighting the importance of joint scientific projects, dual education programs, student and faculty exchange, and collaborative efforts to improve international rankings. Both sides explored cooperation possibilities.
Meetings with the National University of Malaysia and MARA University of Technology discussed enhancing teaching technologies in engineering, joint research projects, experience sharing to improve ranking indicators, and innovative project development. Letters of intent were signed with both universities.
At the Asia-Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, joint projects and initiatives in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, technology application, and international visibility were discussed. A memorandum of understanding was signed.
At INTI International University, discussions focused on project implementation, student and faculty exchange, joint conferences and research initiatives, and mutual support in international rankings. A memorandum of understanding was signed.
The meeting with the International Islamic University Malaysia covered joint teaching programs, collaboration in science and innovation, and participation in international projects.
As a result of the visit, important steps were taken to expand AzTU’s international partnership network and integrate it into the global scientific community. The visit, led by Professor Vilayət Vəliyev, ensures the successful execution of AzTU’s international strategy and creates a solid foundation for deeper, systematic cooperation that contributes to improved university rankings in the future.
