A new info session of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (AKM) was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the session, registration was announced open for the 6th wave of training organized jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (RİNN), the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA), and Israel’s Technion Institute of Technology. Aytən Sadıqova, head of AzTU’s SABAH groups, spoke about the importance of developing the cybersecurity field. She noted that AzTU’s leadership attaches great importance to this area and that the university provides all necessary conditions for students to improve their knowledge and skills in this direction. Final Round of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition Held at AzTU The final stage of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking competition was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), jointly organized by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), the Azerbaijan Republic’s Institute of Education (ARTI), AzTU’s Institute of Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education, and “ÖzünÖyrən” LLC. The main goal of the competition is to increase students’ interest in information technologies and computer science through interactive problems. In the final round, the algorithmic thinking and computer skills of 418 students were tested and automatically evaluated. The competition was conducted via the https://bebras.az/ portal, and participants were given 45 minutes to answer the questions. The ultimate super-final stage of the competition will take place in June 2025.
Students of AzTU won 2nd place in the “GreenTech II” startup and green technologies competition.
The final stage of the “GreenTech II” startup and green technologies competition was held in Ganja, organized by Azerbaijan Technology University (ATU), the Education Development Foundation (EDF), and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA). In the competition, 80 teams from 30 universities across the country competed in 4 categories: Digital Ecology, Robotics, Green Transport Technologies, and Social Innovations for Sustainable Development. Two teams represented Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in the “GreenTech” startup and green technologies competition. The “City Mobility” team, consisting of Rasul Shahveranli and Vasif Mammadov, second and third-year students of AzTU’s Faculty of Transport and Logistics, won 2nd place in the “Green Transport Technologies” category. A joint meeting was held between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education, with the participation of student youth. Training on Plastic Pollution Awareness and Bioplastic Production Held as Part of Sustainability Workshops As part of the Sustainability Workshops conducted in Malatya, Turkiye, training sessions dedicated to environmental protection were successfully implemented for secondary school students. The project included awareness-raising activities on plastic pollution, along with hands-on workshops focused on the production of starch-based bioplastics. Aimed at increasing environmental consciousness and fostering ecological responsibility among students, these training sessions were carried out within the framework of an international partnership between the Malatya Regional Directorate of Education, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and the Bright Futures Public Union. AzTU students awarded 3rd place in an international competition
First-year students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Anabacı Əmiraslanova and Orxan Salmanov, have won in an international competition. AzTU students individually participated in the “Constructor Spring Challenge 2025,” an international mathematics and programming competition organized by Germany’s prestigious Constructor University and “Constructor Talent School,” and were awarded 3rd place along with the “Bronze” certificate. This highly competitive science competition is held annually by Germany’s Constructor University for the 14-18 age groups. The contest involves participants from Azerbaijan, the USA, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Denmark, and other countries, testing students’ intellectual knowledge and encouraging creative solutions to various problems.
A seminar was held for the teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages
A seminar on the topic “Maximizing Speaking Time” was held for the English language teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The seminar and training, organized under the editorship of the department head, Professor Sabina Almammadova, was conducted by Jordan Taylor Braun, a U.S. English language fellow. The honorary guest of the event was English language expert Tiffany Tillman. During the seminar, the faculty members had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with global practices and participate in practical activities aimed at improving speaking skills. As a result of the seminar, the participants integrated the methods and approaches they learned into their own lessons and prepared individual lesson plans. At the end, certificates were awarded to the participants.

Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between AzTU and “Baykar Technological Azerbaijan” Company
The director of “Baykar Technological Azerbaijan” company, Hüseyin Topuz, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). A delegation from AzTU held meetings with the leadership of German universities Organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the leadership of leading German universities visited Baku. As part of the visit, meetings were arranged between German and Azerbaijani universities through DAAD’s initiative. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the meetings by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov, Head of the Academic Department Arastun Mammadov, and Head of the Department of Machine-Building Technologies Nizami Yusifov. During the meetings, information about AzTU was presented to the German universities, and potential areas for collaboration were discussed.
