Rector of Romanian University Visits AzTU
A delegation led by Professor Daniel Valer Breaz, Rector of “December 1, 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Romania, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of their trip to Azerbaijan. The delegation met with Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at AzTU, along with other university representatives. Vice-Rector Nurali Yusifbeyli provided an overview of the university’s achievements, ongoing projects, and future goals. During the meeting, discussions were held on establishing cooperation between AzTU and the “December 1, 1918” University. Both parties explored opportunities for joint research in relevant fields, faculty and student exchanges, and participation in joint projects.
Training Session Under the “ArcGIS for Students” Project Concludes
As part of the “ArcGIS for Students” program, implemented in collaboration with the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) and Esri, one of the world’s leading companies in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a specialized training session focused on practical skills in real-world work processes, conducted by GIS experts from Azerkosmos, has successfully concluded. An event dedicated to World Civil Defence Day was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) under the theme “Civil Defence is the Guarantee of Public Safety.” Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs Rəşad Əliyev stated that the aim of observing this day is to highlight the importance of public protection and safety, as well as to properly acknowledge the work and dedication of civil defence personnel. Head of the Occupational Safety and Technical Security Department, Vidadi Mustafayev, also gave a speech, providing detailed information about the history of World Civil Defence Day and the civil defence measures implemented in Azerbaijan. It is worth noting that this day was declared by the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) and is marked annually as a large-scale humanitarian event. AzTU organized an event dedicated to World Civil Defense Day under the theme “Civil Defense: A Guarantee of Population Safety.” Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for Finance and Economic Affairs Rashad Aliyev emphasized that the purpose of this day is to raise awareness of population protection and safety and recognize the efforts and dedication of civil defense workers. Following this, Vidadi Mustafayev, Head of the Department of Labor Protection and Technical Safety, provided detailed insights into the history of World Civil Defense Day and the measures implemented in Azerbaijan in civil defense. It should be noted that this day, established by the International Civil Defense Organization, is celebrated annually as a major humanitarian event. Azerbaijan became a member of this influential international organization in 1993.

“Nar”, known for its profitable offers in the mobile communications sector, continues its projects aimed at training telecommunications specialists. In this regard, the next training “Fundamentals of Mobile Communications” was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) hosted an event called “Return to Khojaly” on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, organized by the Student Youth Organization (SYO) and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC). The event participants first observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide, as well as the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Three teams from AzTU won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2024 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project – Graduate Projects” competition
Three teams consisting of students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) have won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2024 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project – Graduate Projects” competition announced by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The teams “KarabağX,” “AeroTech AzTU,” and “VATAN” worked on diploma projects titled “Sustainability of green mechanical processing and cutting tools,” “Optimization of aerodynamic shape using reinforcement learning,” and “Reduction of residual stresses depending on the rolling direction of material in mechanical processing parts and optimization of NC programs,” respectively. These projects are supervised by Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Manufacturing Technology; Professor Yadigar İmamverdiyev, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity; and Associate Professor Sarvan Aziz from the Department of Manufacturing Technology. The projects are supported by industrial consultants Görkem Çoban, Sadik Yetkin, and Alper Yeşilyurt from TUSAŞ. Three teams of students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) won the competition “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2024 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project – Graduate Projects” announced by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) within the framework of the 2024-2025 academic year. The teams of “KarabaghX”, “AeroTech AzTU” and “VATAN” are working on diploma projects on the topics of “Green mechanical processing and durability of cutting tools”, “Optimization of aerodynamic shape using reinforcement learning” and “Reduction of residual stresses in mechanical processing parts depending on the rolling direction of the material and optimization of the NC program”.
