The head of the TUBITAK KNOWLEDGE Center has been at AzTU
The Head of the Information Security Research Center (BİLGEM) at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), Ali Gorchin, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During his visit, he met with AzTU’s Rector, Vilayat Valiyev, and other university representatives. Rector Vilayat Valiyev highlighted AzTU’s ongoing initiatives in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with BİLGEM in these areas. Ali Gorchin underscored the critical role of information security in today’s world and stressed the need for developing new cybersecurity products. He expressed interest in fostering cooperation between BİLGEM and AzTU, particularly at the master’s and doctoral levels. Ali Gorchin proposed implementing joint certification programs between AzTU and BİLGEM, as well as establishing partnerships with Turkish universities. He also assured BİLGEM’s support for co-supervised master’s and doctoral programs. “Safety of Road Traffic – 2” project held at AzTU
With the financial support of the Youth Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union (ASYOU), AzTU Student Youth Organization (SYO) as part of the “Make the Idea Real 2023” Youth Individual Projects Grant Competition “Traffic Safety – 2” project was implemented. More than 200 students participated in the two-day project. Students were given extensive information about traffic rules, traffic accidents that have occurred in recent years, and their main causes. The participants were trained by Allahverdi Sharifov, dean of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics of AzTU, and an educational video about road traffic safety was shown to the students. Participants who successfully completed the project were presented with a certificate.
Scientists at the Department of Mechanical Technology won the Grant contest of the Azerbaijani Science Fund
Scientists of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) have been declared the winners of the “Main Grant Competition – 2024” dedicated to the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World” of the Azerbaijan Science Foundation. The project of our scientists called “Technological guarantee of economic processing conditions on machines controlled by digital program” successfully passed the scientific examination and was among the winners. The head of the scientific research project is the head of the Mechanical Engineering Technology Department, honored engineer, doctor of technical sciences, professor Nizami Yusubov. The scientific project with a financial volume of 200,000 AZN is planned to be implemented within 2 years.
The winners of the project contest dedicated to International Teachers Day at AzTU have been awarded
The “Innovative solutions” project competition jointly organized by the Human Resources Department of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the Trade Union Committee and the Student Trade Union Committee on the occasion of the International Teachers’ Day has been concluded. AzTU professors and students participated in the project competition in the form of 10 teams. The participants of the competition presented in front of the jury, offering innovative solutions to the difficulties that arose in various situations in the educational process. The jury evaluated the project ideas submitted to the competition according to 5 criteria (innovative and creative approach, relevance to the topic, application in practice, usefulness, teamwork and presentation). Memorandum of Understanding signed between AzTU and Ukrainian and Moldovan universities
As part of the final international conference of the “Enhancing Universities’ Capacities in Clusters Development and Participation Through Innovation and Sustainability Principles” project (UniClaD), conducted under the European Union’s ERASMUS+ KA2 program, a meeting was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The meeting convened AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of Poltava State Agrarian University of Ukraine, Oleksandr Galych, and Rector of Comrat State University of Moldova, Sergey Zaharia. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AzTU and the aforementioned universities, establishing a framework for collaboration in the fields of education and research.
AzTU holds final conference on UniClaD project
At Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the final international conference on the project “Increasing the capacity of universities to initiate and participate in the development of clusters with the principles of innovation and sustainability” (UniClaD), which was implemented within the framework of the European Union’s “ERASMUS+ KA2” program, began its work. The conference is held with the participation of more than 20 higher education and industrial institutions representing Italy, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Moldova, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which includes the project consortium. Within the framework of the conference, presentations will be presented in terms of the development and activity of clusters in the agricultural sector, as well as the study of European experience. AzTU holds final seminar and conference on the Erasmus+ KA2 project
The final international seminar and conference on the project “Increasing the capacity of universities to initiate and participate in the development of clusters with the principles of innovation and sustainability” (UniClaD), implemented within the framework of the “Erasmus+ KA2” program of the European Union, in which Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is a partner, has started. The mentioned events are held with the participation of more than 20 higher education and industrial institutions representing Italy, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, Moldova, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which comprise the project consortium. The event was organized by AzTU on 30.09.2024 – 04.10.2024. Chief engineer at German university lectures AzTU students
Rezo Aliyev, chief scientific engineer of the Department of Additive Manufacturing of Germany’s Freiberg Mountain Academy Technical University (TUBAF) visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for 2 weeks on the basis of a scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Rezo Aliyev got acquainted with the quality of teaching at AzTU, as well as teaching and research laboratories. He taught a series of lectures and practical training classes in the German language groups of the German engineering and mechanical engineering and robotics faculties. Rezo Aliyev also held a scientific-methodical seminar on “Main aspects of additive manufacturing technology” for the professor-teaching staff and students of AzTU’s departments operating in the fields of mechanical engineering and metallurgy. During the visit, the prospects of future educational and scientific-research relations between AzTU and TUBAF were also discussed.
AzTU colleague participated in an international event in Uzbekistan
In Tashkent, Uzbekistan the event “Sustainable lifestyles festival 2024: learning to live better and lighter on campus and beyond” organized by DKU with the support of UN Environment Program (UNEP) was held. At the event, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented by Ph.D Natavan Namazova,the head of the Institute of Sustainable Development. The goal of the festival is to raise awareness of innovative strategies for implementing sustainable lifestyles in universities in Central Asia and the Caucasus through global and interregional exchange of best practices. Within the framework of the festival, legacies leading to a greener and more responsible lifestyle from the past to the present were widely discussed.
AzTU holds information session on DAAD scholarship programs
The next information session about scholarship programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). In the information session, DAAD’s German language teacher working at AzTU, Claudio Kasperl, gave detailed information to the students about studying in Germany, DAAD’s activity and scholarship programs, application conditions, set of required documents and selection criteria. Summer schools organized by DAAD for undergraduate students and application rules are explained in detail. At the end of the event, the participants’ questions were answered. In addition, Claudio Kasperl organized an information session about DAAD scholarship programs for researchers and doctoral studies. In the session, detailed information was given about requirements and application rules, and additional consultation hours were set for those interested.
