An online scientific seminar was held with graduate students involved in scientific research practice at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering operating under the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The seminar, led by Nuran Abdullayev, Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Research Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, held extensive discussions on current scientific topics with graduate students studying in the specializations “Service of Biomedical and Radioelectronic Devices” and “Medical and Technical Diagnostic Methods and Devices”.Discussions were organized around the current research work of the graduate  students, their dissertation topics, and the methods they apply, and future directions of activity were determined.The meeting was attended by the institute’s senior research workerr Javid Abbasli and the experimental supervisors, PhDs in engineering Gunay Khasmammadova, Khanim Samadova, and Aybeniz Abdullayeva, who shared their suggestions and recommendations regarding the scientific results presented by the graduate students.

Two performances prepared by the Theater Club on the occasion of National Theater Day were demonstrated  the Student Trade Union  of Azerbaijan Technical University.The performances dedicated to the 152nd anniversary of the National Theater were staged based on the play “Monsieur Jordan and Dervish Masteli Shah” by playwright Mirza Fatali Akhundov and “The Garden Teacher” by Afag Bashirgizi.It should be noted that the performances were created as a result of 3 months of rehearsals by students of AzTU and the UNEC Creativity Center.Honored Artists Rafael Isgandarov, Joshgun Rahimov, and Elkhan Yunis were among those who watched the performances.At the end of the performance, the honored artists congratulated the students and wished them success. At the end, letters of thanks were presented to the young ones who had worked hard to create the performances.

Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev met with representatives of Huawei. The Rector of  AzTU Vilayat Valiyev provided information about the teaching and research activities conducted at the university in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as the current capabilities of this higher education institution in the field of information technologies and digitalization. Angela Lin, Vice President of Huawei, said that the company is interested in sharing its experience in the field of education with AzTU. The meeting was excambioned views on expanding relations in the field of information technologies and digitalization, establishing cooperation in the direction of teacher and student trainings and projects.

The Azerbaijan National Championship of the “Fibonacci” International Robot Olympiad was held, bringing together over 1,000 students from 36 educational institutions across the country. Young engineers competed for victory in 21 different categories, showcasing their skills in robotics and innovation. In addition to Azerbaijan, participants from Turkey and Kazakhstan also took part in this year’s competition. A team mentored by Turkana Gahramanli, a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), achieved outstanding success, securing 1st place in four categories and 2nd place in one category. Notably, the teams mentored by Turkana Gahramanli included Yusif Aliyev, a first-year Computer Science student at AzTU, and Khumara Gahramanli, a doctoral student specializing in Systematic Analysis, Management, and Information Processing. The winning teams have earned the opportunity to represent Azerbaijan at the Fibonacci International Robot Olympiad, which will take place in Antalya, Turkey, in April.

A delegation from O.P. Jindal Global University, India, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) to explore potential collaboration opportunities. Welcoming the guests, Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations at AzTU, provided an overview of the university’s initiatives in education, research, international cooperation, and rankings. Rahul Bhandari, Director of the Office of Institutional Development and Strategic Global Action at O.P. Jindal Global University, and Swapnil S. Bhosale, General Manager of the Office of Ratings, Benchmarking, and Institutional Transformation, expressed their appreciation for the visit and delivered a detailed presentation about their university. During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, and further collaboration between the two universities.

An information session was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) to provide students with detailed insights into the StudentPlus card, its benefits, and the opportunities it offers. The session also aimed to address students’ questions regarding the card’s features. During the event, students were informed about the advantages of the StudentPlus card, including discounts available at partner companies. Aysel Maharramova, Chief Specialist of the Project Management Department at the Education Development Fund, delivered a presentation on the StudentPlus project, outlining its goals and the opportunities it provides for students. She highlighted the project’s prospects, stating that new partnerships would soon be established to further expand the discount network. Concluding her speech, she emphasized that the StudentPlus card not only grants students special privileges but also enhances convenience and digital accessibility, allowing them to track their daily expenses more efficiently. A meeting was held to strengthen cooperation between the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the meeting, participants were briefed on AzMI’s areas of activity, calibration and verification capabilities, and ongoing laboratory improvements. Proposals were made to facilitate internships for AzTU students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels at AzMI, as well as to encourage them to publish their scientific articles in AzTU’s scientific journal. Additionally, discussions focused on potential collaborations, including the creation of a joint scientific journal, the co-organization of scientific conferences, and the development of joint training programs. Views were also exchanged on training initiatives and seminars conducted as part of the “AzMI Academy” project. After the meeting, attendees toured AzMI’s laboratories, where they inspected facilities for measuring the kinematic viscosity of liquids, mass, volume, medicine, resistance, time and frequency, distribution parameters, and radio frequency power measurements.  

On March 4, a roundtable discussion titled “Expanding Cooperation in Higher Education Between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan” was held at ADA University. The event was attended by Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, as well as rectors from leading universities in both countries. Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University, who hosted the event, delivered the opening speech and welcomed the participants. He highlighted the professionalism of Kazakh academic staff working at the university he leads and emphasized the commitment to further strengthening cooperation in science and education between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. A delegation led by Professor Daniel Valer Breaz, Rector of “December 1, 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Romania, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of their trip to Azerbaijan. The delegation met with Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at AzTU, along with other university representatives. Vice-Rector Nurali Yusifbeyli provided an overview of the university’s achievements, ongoing projects, and future goals. During the meeting, discussions were held on establishing cooperation between AzTU and the “December 1, 1918” University. Both parties explored opportunities for joint research in relevant fields, faculty and student exchanges, and participation in joint projects.  

As part of the “ArcGIS for Students” program, implemented in collaboration with the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) and Esri, one of the world’s leading companies in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a specialized training session focused on practical skills in real-world work processes, conducted by GIS experts from Azerkosmos, has successfully concluded.
