Representatives of Türkiye’s Communication Industry Visit AzTU
Representatives from various companies within the Communication Technologies Cluster, operating under the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone in Türkiye, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU’s Rector Vilayət Vəliyev and other university representatives. Rector Vilayet Valiyev spoke about AzTU’s collaboration with Türkiye’s higher education institutions and companies. He emphasized the importance of applying Türkiye’s experience in university-industry collaboration at AzTU. Durali Çiçek, the coordinator of the Communication Technologies Cluster, and representatives from the cluster’s companies provided information about the activities of their institutions, highlighting the importance of university-industry collaboration in the fields of electronics, automation, telecommunications, programming, and cybersecurity. Durali Çiçek mentioned that AzTU’s faculty members and students could be involved in research and internship activities at companies within the cluster. During the meeting, the possibilities for collaboration in relevant areas were discussed.
Info Session Held for AzTU and TAU Students
Ahmet Köse, Director of the “Bilim Baku” Center and official representative of “TEKNOFEST” in Azerbaijan, met with Vilayet Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The meeting was also attended by Mehmet Şimşir, Vice-Rector of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU), and AzTU representatives. During the discussion, the expansion of cooperation between AzTU and TAU was explored. Following that, Ahmet Köse held an info session for AzTU and TAU students. The event began with an opening speech by Sübhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at AzTU. He mentioned that students prepare for “TEKNOFEST” with great enthusiasm every year and emphasized the significance of the competition, noting that it opens new opportunities for students. Ahmet Köse then gave a comprehensive presentation on “TEKNOFEST-2025.” The session concluded with a Q&A session, where students’ questions were answered.
Seven AzTU Students Awarded Named Scholarship by the Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union Republican Committee
The Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union Republican Committee (ATİAHİRK), a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK), has awarded named scholarships to 100 students who actively participate in education and the student trade union movement. AzTU representative delivers a speech at the “4th Networking Forum of Young Teachers”
The ‘4th Networking Forum of Young Teachers,’ organized by the Azerbaijan Young Teachers Association (AGMA), hosted productive discussions with the participation of more than 600 teachers. During the first plenary session, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Ethics: Issues of Integrity and Privacy in Education,” Etibar Seyidzade, Director of the Institute for Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), delivered a speech. He discussed topics such as artificial intelligence and academic integrity, data privacy, the application of AI in education, and fairness in the education system.
Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between AzTU and the University of Uzbekistan
A delegation led by the Rector of the Tashkent International University of Finance and Technology, Azizkhon Nodirov, visited Azerbaijan as part of their trip and was hosted by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU’s Rector Vilayet Valiyev and university representatives. During the meeting, discussions were held on establishing cooperation between the universities in relevant fields. Specifically, the preparation of joint programs in economics and management and the implementation of research were discussed. At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AzTU and the Tashkent International University of Finance and Technology.
The semi-final round in Informatics was held at AzTU
The semifinal round of the Republic Subject Olympiads in informatics was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Research Institute of Education (ARTI). The two-day competition brought together 200 students from grades 8, 9, 10, and 11. Participants were assigned to solve four algorithmic problems using C++ or Python programming languages within three hours. The evaluation was conducted through an automated grading system.

Azerbaijan Metrology Institute’s Delegation Visits AzTU
A delegation led by the Director General of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI), Khamis Seyranov, under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU’s Rector Vilayət Vəliyev and university representatives, engaging in discussions on various relevant topics. During the conversation, the establishment of collaboration between the university and the institute in relevant fields was discussed. Topics included AzTU students conducting scientific research using AzMI’s laboratories, dual supervision at the master’s level, and the development of new projects in the field of metrology. Additionally, the possibility for students of relevant specializations to gain industrial experience at AzMI and enhance their practical knowledge was also discussed.
Cooperation Agreement Between the High Technology Park and Universities
On February 14, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the High Technology Park (HTP) of the Ministry of Science and Education and Azerbaijan’s leading higher education institutions regarding strategic cooperation. According to the agreement, the teaching of selected SABAH group programs in IT, engineering, and science fields at Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University will take place starting from 2026 at the newly established “SABAH.city” campus within the HTP area. A “Digital Transformation Strategy” will be developed for AzTU
A meeting of the working group of the Digital Transformation Council of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was held, where the development of the university’s ‘Digital Transformation Strategy’ was discussed. Additionally, discussions were held on the digital transformation experiences of local and international universities, new approaches to workforce development that meet labor market demands, and efforts to align the quality of education and teaching with international standards.
