The Azerbaijan National Championship of the “Fibonacci” International Robot Olympiad was held, bringing together over 1,000 students from 36 educational institutions across the country. Young engineers competed for victory in 21 different categories, showcasing their skills in robotics and innovation. In addition to Azerbaijan, participants from Turkey and Kazakhstan also took part in this year’s competition. A team mentored by Turkana Gahramanli, a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), achieved outstanding success, securing 1st place in four categories and 2nd place in one category. Notably, the teams mentored by Turkana Gahramanli included Yusif Aliyev, a first-year Computer Science student at AzTU, and Khumara Gahramanli, a doctoral student specializing in Systematic Analysis, Management, and Information Processing. The winning teams have earned the opportunity to represent Azerbaijan at the Fibonacci International Robot Olympiad, which will take place in Antalya, Turkey, in April.

Representatives of an Indian university visited AzTU Representatives of India’s O.P. Jindal Global University visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). AzTU’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, Fariz Mammadov, welcomed the guests and provided information about the university’s activities in education, research, international cooperation, and rankings. Rahul Bhandari, Director of Institutional Development and Strategic Global Engagement Office, and Swapnil S. Bhosale, Head Manager of Rankings Benchmarking and Institutional Transformation Office from O.P. Jindal Global University, expressed their satisfaction with the visit to AzTU and gave a detailed presentation about their university. During the meeting, opportunities for student and faculty exchange, joint scientific research projects, and other cooperation possibilities between the two universities were discussed.     RELATED GOALS    

A meeting was held to expand cooperation between the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) and the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the meeting, information was shared about the institute’s fields of activity, calibration and verification capabilities, as well as improvements made in the laboratories. Proposals were made for AzTU’s undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students to undergo internships at AzMI and to publish their scientific articles in the university’s academic journal. In addition, cooperation prospects were discussed in areas such as the creation of a joint scientific journal, the organization of scientific conferences and training programs. The sides also exchanged views on training and education programs, and seminars organized within the framework of the “AzMI Academy” project. The session also aimed to address students’ questions regarding the card’s features. During the event, students were informed about the advantages of the StudentPlus card, including discounts available at partner companies. A meeting was held to strengthen cooperation between the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the meeting, participants were briefed on AzMI’s areas of activity, calibration and verification capabilities, and ongoing laboratory improvements. Proposals were made to facilitate internships for AzTU students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels at AzMI, as well as to encourage them to publish their scientific articles in AzTU’s scientific journal. Additionally, discussions focused on potential collaborations, including the creation of a joint scientific journal, the co-organization of scientific conferences, and the development of joint training programs. Views were also exchanged on training initiatives and seminars conducted as part of the “AzMI Academy” project. After the meeting, attendees toured AzMI’s laboratories, where they inspected facilities for measuring the kinematic viscosity of liquids, mass, volume, medicine, resistance, time and frequency, distribution parameters, and radio frequency power measurements.  

A memorandum was signed between AzTU and 3 universities of Kazakhstan On March 4, a roundtable titled “Expanding Cooperation in Higher Education Between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan” was held at ADA University. The event was attended by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek; Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev; and the rectors of leading universities from both countries. In his opening remarks, ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev welcomed the guests and emphasized the professionalism of the Kazakh academic staff working at ADA. He noted that efforts will continue to further expand cooperation in science and education between the two countries. Kazakhstan’s Minister Sayasat Nurbek expressed his country’s intent to deepen cooperation in higher education with Azerbaijan. A delegation led by Professor Daniel Valer Breaz, Rector of Romania’s “1 December 1918” University of Alba Iulia, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of their trip to Azerbaijan. The guests met with Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at AzTU, along with other university representatives. During the meeting, Vice-Rector Nurali Yusifbeyli provided information about the university’s ongoing work, implemented projects, and AzTU’s strategic goals. The two sides exchanged views on establishing cooperation between AzTU and “1 December 1918” University. The training session held within the framework of the “ArcGIS for Students” program has concluded. Organized jointly by the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) and Esri, a global leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the program included specialized practical training conducted by Azercosmos GIS experts focusing on real work processes. At the closing ceremony, Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), greeted the participants and thanked them for their active engagement.
