The Times Higher Education (THE) has announced its 2026 subject rankings by academic fields. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) participated in this ranking for the first time and was placed in the 1251+ band.
Within the framework of the ranking, AzTU was evaluated in the fields of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This result is considered an indicator of the ongoing efforts to develop teaching and research activities in these fields, strengthen academic capacity, and enhance integration into the international academic community.
It should be noted that the THE subject ranking methodology is based on five core areas and 18 performance indicators. The assessment process includes indicators related to teaching, research environment, research quality, industry collaboration, and international outlook. This comprehensive approach allows for an in-depth evaluation of universities’ academic and research performance.
AzTU’s inclusion in the THE subject rankings is regarded as an important achievement in terms of implementing the university’s institutional development strategy, increasing the effectiveness of its research activities, and expanding international cooperation opportunities.
