On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, the staff of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Turkey-Azerbaijan University (TAU) visited the Khojaly Genocide Memorial on February 26.
Wreaths were laid in front of the memorial, and the memory of the victims of the tragedy was honored with respect.
It should be noted that on the night of February 25–26, 1992, Armenian armed forces, with the participation of the former Soviet army’s 366th regiment stationed in Khankendi, completely destroyed the city of Khojaly. As a result of this mass atrocity committed by Armenian aggressors against the Azerbaijani people, 613 civilians were killed, including 106 women, 63 children, and 70 elderly people. Additionally, 1,275 peaceful residents were taken hostage, and the fate of 150 individuals remains unknown. Eight families were completely annihilated, 25 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one parent.
