A delegation from Azerbaijan Technical University, including the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Subhan Namazov, and the Director of the Research, Development and Reputation Department, Bakhtiyar Bədəlov, visited Ankara and Istanbul to establish and develop new collaborations in joint research with leading Turkish universities.
During the visit, the AzTU representatives held discussions with senior management and researchers from Yıldız Technical University, Gazi University, Gebze Technical University, Çankaya University, Istanbul Ticaret University, Istinye University, and Bahçeşehir University.
The discussions focused on sharing research platforms, supporting collaboration between researchers (ensuring each researcher works with at least one partner researcher), organizing joint conferences, and strengthening institutional cooperation mechanisms. Agreements were reached on these issues.
In meetings with Elif Damla Arisan and Hasari Celebi, both parties agreed on implementing joint internal grant projects and the shared use of Gebze Technical University’s laboratory infrastructure and technopark facilities. In discussions with Guleda Engin, agreements were reached on organizing joint scientific conferences and supporting mutual exchange of academic staff. During the meeting with Berk Ayvaz, cooperation was agreed in areas including academic staff exchange, joint research activities, and doctoral education.
The meetings also explored future collaboration in joint scientific research, participation in international grant programs, exchange of doctoral candidates and young researchers, as well as the organization of scientific conferences and seminars. The importance of experience sharing in innovation activities, technology transfer, and applied research development was emphasized.
Participants highlighted that strengthening cooperation between universities is essential for enhancing scientific potential, improving the research environment, and expanding international academic relations.
During the visit, the AzTU delegation also toured research centers and innovation infrastructure at the partner universities and exchanged views on research organization and management practices.
