AzTU Library Information Center started a series of training programs

The Library Information Center (LIC) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), in collaboration with “Informascope”, the regional representative of “Elsevier”, a leading company in academic information databases, has launched a series of training programs on the use of the “Scopus” and “ScienceDirect” academic databases in higher education institutions across Azerbaijan. The initiative aims to promote and enhance the use of “Scopus” and “ScienceDirect” in the country.

The first session of the training series was attended by librarians, faculty members, and researchers from various universities and institutes.

The event began with a speech by AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, who emphasized the significance of the training.

Following that, Ayhan Saracoglu, Regional Manager of “Elsevier”, provided a comprehensive overview of the “Scopus” and “ScienceDirect” databases, covering their scope, usage capabilities, and recent updates. Practical demonstrations were conducted, and participants’ questions were addressed.

The session concluded with a discussion regarding the next phase of the training program.

It is worth noting that, in addition to AzTU staff and academic personnel, representatives from ADA University, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, Baku Slavic University, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Police Academy, Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Academy of the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and Odlar Yurdu University also participated in the training.
