The sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan National Food Technology Platform was held at Hacettepe University, Türkiye. The event was organized at the initiative of the Turkish-Azerbaijani University (TAU).
The meeting brought together representatives of higher education institutions in Azerbaijan where food engineering programs are offered. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented by Professor Isa Khalilov, Head of the Department of Machine Design, Mechatronics and Industrial Technologies, and Senior Lecturer Bahruz Jabrailov.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Halil Vural, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hacettepe University, provided the delegation with detailed information on the work carried out at the faculty. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation by Professor Ali Topcu, Head of the Food Engineering Program at Hacettepe University, on the structure of laboratories, operational principles, and research areas.
Professor Vural Gokmen of Hacettepe University and Professor Umran Uyqun, Head of the Food Engineering Program at TAU, also delivered presentations on laboratory infrastructure, ongoing projects, achieved results, opportunities for applying research outcomes, and prospects for integration with industry.
The meeting further included discussions on the current state of food engineering education, mutual exchange of experience, and future cooperation opportunities.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation also toured the laboratories of Hacettepe University, receiving detailed information on available equipment, scientific research activities, and opportunities for industry integration.
