Representatives of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) visited “Azerenerji” Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC). Professor Nurali Yusifbayli, AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, spoke about the importance of digitalization in the energy sector, the integration of renewable energy sources, and the application of SCADA and AI-based management systems. He noted that these management systems necessitate the training of engineering personnel equipped with new competencies.
Subsequently, Professor Huseyngulu Guliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Energy, provided detailed information regarding the curricula and course syllabi for the specialties of electrical and electronics engineering and energy engineering.
Yusif Garayev, First Deputy Chief Power Transmission System Operator of “Azerenerji” OJSC, and Ilham Aghasiyev, Head of the Central Dispatch Department, emphasized the need for specialized personnel in SCADA, WAMS (Wide Area Monitoring Systems), digital platforms, energy storage technologies, and software within energy systems. They also highlighted the importance of basing Master’s dissertations on real-world industrial challenges.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand coordinated cooperation between the parties, align curricula with labor market requirements, organize 20-week internships for students, implement joint research projects, and hold regular meetings in this format.
