An event titled “Artificial Intelligence in Universities: Change is at Our Doorstep” was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by AzTU’s professors, education specialists, and students. The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Buket Akkoyunlu, Vice-Rector of Çankaya University in Turkey and a renowned scholar, shared valuable insights on the application of artificial intelligence technologies in higher education institutions, the interaction of teachers with these technologies and their new roles, the restructuring of teaching strategies, and ethical issues. At the end of the event, discussions were held about the integration of artificial intelligence into the teaching process, the challenges that may arise in education, and new opportunities.
Students of AzTU undergo industrial training at Baku Shipbuilding Plant
The industrial training of 4th-year students specializing in Industrial Engineering at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is successfully ongoing at the Baku Shipbuilding Plant. To ensure quality training and familiarize students with modern production processes, the training has been effectively organized based on a program developed jointly by AzTU’s Department of Machine Design and Industrial Technologies and the Training Center at Baku Shipbuilding Plant. During the training program, students who are open to learning, proactive, innovative, enthusiastic, and successfully complete the industrial practice will be selected and awarded certificates. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to work at the plant.

Students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) — members of the “InTech” team, Mirsahib Ağazadə, Ömər, and Sübhan Ələsgərov — presented the “Tələbə360” project at the “Özbahçeci Invest Forum.” The students provided detailed information to the participants about the purpose and functionality of the “Tələbə360” project. Head of Department of AzTU on a Business Trip to Germany
Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Manufacturing Technology at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), paid a business visit to Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus – Senftenberg (BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg) in Germany. International Success of the “MECHACK 9030” Team Supported by AzTU
With the support of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the “MECHACK 9030” team achieved significant success in 2023 at the New York City Regional competition, winning the “Rookie All-Star Award” and qualifying for the World Championship. At the Houston World Championship, the team was awarded the “Rookie Inspiration Award – Newton Division.” Additionally, by receiving a “Wild Card” at the New York Regional, the MECHACK team once again demonstrated its engineering skills and team spirit at an international level. On March 14, 2025, the “MECHACK 9030” team also participated in competitions held in Orlando and Miami, Florida, USA. An awareness event was held jointly by the Electronic Security Service and Azerbaijan Technical University An awareness event was organized jointly by the Electronic Security Service (ESS) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event, attended by a total of 200 people, featured presentations by ESS staff on the topics of “Cybersecurity in the Online Environment” and “Fundamentals of Cybersecurity.” The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among youth in higher education institutions about information security and cybersecurity, as well as the use of social networks.

Two performances were held at AzTU on the occasion of National Theatre Day Two performances prepared by the Theatre Club of the Student Trade Union (THİK) at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) were showcased to celebrate National Theatre Day. The performances dedicated to the 152nd anniversary of the National Theatre were staged based on the works of playwright Mirza Fatali Akhundov’s “Monsieur Jordan and Dervish Mastali Shah” and Afaq Bashirqizi’s “Kindergarten Teacher.” It should be noted that the performances were the result of three months of rehearsals by students from AzTU and the UNEC Creativity Center. Among the audience were honored artists Rafael Isgandarov, Joshgun Rahimov, and Elkhan Yunis. At the end of the performances, the honored artists congratulated the students and wished them success. New cooperation opportunities discussed between AzTU and AzMI
A meeting was held to expand cooperation between the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) and the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the meeting, information was shared about the institute’s fields of activity, calibration and verification capabilities, as well as improvements made in the laboratories. Proposals were made for AzTU’s undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students to undergo internships at AzMI and to publish their scientific articles in the university’s academic journal. A memorandum was signed between AzTU and 3 universities of Kazakhstan On March 4, a roundtable titled “Expanding Cooperation in Higher Education Between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan” was held at ADA University. The event was attended by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek; Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev; and the rectors of leading universities from both countries. In his opening remarks, ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev welcomed the guests and emphasized the professionalism of the Kazakh academic staff working at ADA. He noted that efforts will continue to further expand cooperation in science and education between the two countries.
