The Rector of a Romanian University Visited AzTU
A delegation led by Professor Daniel Valer Breaz, Rector of Romania’s “1 December 1918” University of Alba Iulia, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of their trip to Azerbaijan. The guests met with Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at AzTU, along with other university representatives. During the meeting, Vice-Rector Nurali Yusifbeyli provided information about the university’s ongoing work, implemented projects, and AzTU’s strategic goals. The two sides exchanged views on establishing cooperation between AzTU and “1 December 1918” University. The training session held within the framework of the “ArcGIS for Students” program has concluded. Organized jointly by the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) and Esri, a global leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the program included specialized practical training conducted by Azercosmos GIS experts focusing on real work processes. At the closing ceremony, Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), greeted the participants and thanked them for their active engagement. An event dedicated to World Civil Defence Day was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) under the theme “Civil Defence is the Guarantee of Public Safety.” Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs Rəşad Əliyev stated that the aim of observing this day is to highlight the importance of public protection and safety, as well as to properly acknowledge the work and dedication of civil defence personnel. Head of the Occupational Safety and Technical Security Department, Vidadi Mustafayev, also gave a speech, providing detailed information about the history of World Civil Defence Day and the civil defence measures implemented in Azerbaijan. It is worth noting that this day was declared by the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) and is marked annually as a large-scale humanitarian event. The event was attended by Elshad Aliyev’s family members, classmates, families of martyrs, war veterans, members of the National Assembly, representatives of the Nizami District Executive Authority, AzTU’s faculty and students. First, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, followed by the playing of the National Anthem. Three teams from AzTU won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2024 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project – Graduate Projects” competition
Three teams consisting of students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) have won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2024 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project – Graduate Projects” competition announced by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The teams “KarabağX,” “AeroTech AzTU,” and “VATAN” worked on diploma projects titled “Sustainability of green mechanical processing and cutting tools,” “Optimization of aerodynamic shape using reinforcement learning,” and “Reduction of residual stresses depending on the rolling direction of material in mechanical processing parts and optimization of NC programs,” respectively. These projects are supervised by Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Manufacturing Technology; Professor Yadigar İmamverdiyev, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity; and Associate Professor Sarvan Aziz from the Department of Manufacturing Technology. The projects are supported by industrial consultants Görkem Çoban, Sadik Yetkin, and Alper Yeşilyurt from TUSAŞ. A representative of the Clarivate company conducted a training session for staff at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
Meinhard Kettler, a representative of Clarivate, led the online training organized by AzTU’s Research and Development Department. The main purpose of the training was to provide information on how to use the features offered by the PQDT Global and Web of Science platforms more effectively, as well as to promote open access. During the session, topics such as free access to PQDT Global and Web of Science, electronic theses and dissertations, and using ProQuest’s free ETD Dashboard tool for data access, along with institutional repository systems for universities, were discussed. Representatives of Türkiye’s Communication Industry Visit AzTU
Representatives from various companies within the Communication Technologies Cluster operating under Türkiye’s OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone visited the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The delegation met with AzTU’s rector Vilayət Vəliyev and university representatives.During the meeting, Rector Vəliyev highlighted AzTU’s ongoing collaboration with Turkish universities and companies, emphasizing the importance of applying Türkiye’s experience in university-industry cooperation at AzTU.Durali Çiçek, coordinator of the Communication Technologies Cluster and head of the delegation, along with other company representatives, introduced their organizations and stressed the importance of cooperation between industry and academia in areas such as electronics, automation, telecommunications, programming, and cybersecurity.
