An info session on the Student Scientific Society (SSC) was held for students of the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). A new “bootcamp” was held in Khankendi as part of the project “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Precision Agriculture”, jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Agrarian Innovation Center and Karabakh University. The Library and Information Center (LIC) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), led by Director Khayala Hajiyeva and staff member Mahsati Aliyeva, has successfully completed the Azerbaijani translation of the online terminology dictionary in the field of Digital Repositories, following a joint collaboration proposal from COAR (Controlled Open Access Repositories). COAR is an international association representing over 130 members and partners, including libraries, universities, and research institutions worldwide. The organization works to enhance the potential of open access, develop legal frameworks, harmonize best practices, and act as a global voice for repository networks. One of its key initiatives is the translation of digital repositories into various world languages, supporting trends in science and education as well as promoting open science and open access. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Rector Vilayet Valiyev met with students Rasul Ibrahimli, Huseyn Huseynov, Amil Jamilov, Sahib Iskanderli, Ali Hesenli, Seymur Shikhalizade, and Ilaha Karimova, who participated in the 76th International Astronautical Congress held in Sydney, Australia. The meeting was also attended by Aytan Sadigova, head of AzTU’s “SABAH” groups. It was noted that the students presented scientific papers at the congress, and their presentations were highly appreciated by scholars and industry representatives from various countries. This event provided AzTU students with the opportunity to expand their engagement with the international scientific community, familiarize themselves with contemporary achievements in space research and astronautics, and showcase the university’s scientific potential on a global scale. Rector Valiyev wished the students success in their future scientific endeavors.      

Professor Mehman Hasanov, Head of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications, and Associate Professor Atif Namazov, Head of the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), participated in the “CIDC 2025 – Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge” cybersecurity festival. The event was organized by the State Security Service (DTX) and the Special Communication and Information Security State Service (XRİTDX), in partnership with the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (AKTA). The main objective of the festival was to share advanced international practices in critical infrastructure protection, information security, digital stability, and the application of artificial intelligence, as well as to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors.      

Fourth-year students of the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) conducted a practical training session on Nanotechnology at the “Thin-Film Structures” laboratory of the Physics Institute. The session was led by Elnur Baghiyev, assistant of the Department of Special Technologies and Equipment. Students became acquainted with the laboratory’s modern equipment and observed the process of creating nanometer-scale layers using various methods on the “Angstrom” device. The training was also attended by Amin Mamedov, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs, Public Relations, and Infrastructure of the faculty. It is noteworthy that such practical training sessions are planned to continue in the future.

An informative session on “Peerstack Academy” was organized for the students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Dean of the faculty, Leyla Mammadova, emphasized the importance of the upcoming “Peerstack” programming courses for the Fall semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, highlighting their role in enhancing students’ practical experience and technical skills. Project leader Jamal Rzayev provided detailed information about the admission process, training structure, and the teaching methods of the “Full Stack,” “Front-End,” and “Back-End” programs, as well as the class schedules. At the end of the session, students’ questions were addressed.     

A delegation from the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), including Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Dr. Subhan Namazov, and Director of the Research and Development Department, Dr. Bakhtiyar Badalov, paid a working visit to Islamabad, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to strengthen academic and research cooperation with the country’s top-ranked universities. The first phase of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (HSE) training program, implemented within the cooperation framework between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and “TCS” LLC, has been successfully completed. In this stage, seven selected AzTU instructors earned internationally recognized certifications in the field of industrial safety, including “Train the Trainer,” “IOSH Managing Safely 5.0,” and “Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST).” The training program provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through an intensive teaching and evaluation process. This collaboration not only strengthens AzTU’s partnership with industry but also contributes to raising the professional competence of both faculty members and students to an international standard.
