Students of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) — Rasul Ibrahimli, Huseyn Huseynov, Amil Jamilov, Sahib Iskandarli, Ali Hasanli, Seymur Shikhalizade, and Ilaha Karimova — successfully presented their scientific papers at the 76th International Astronautical Congress held in Sydney, Australia. The students were accompanied by Ayten Sadiqova, Head of AzTU “SABAH” groups. The visit aimed to expand AzTU students’ interaction with the international scientific community, familiarize them with cutting-edge achievements in space research and astronautics, and showcase the university’s scientific potential on a global scale. During the congress, AzTU students presented their research on aerospace engineering, satellite technologies, and the applications of artificial intelligence in space exploration. Their studies addressed key issues such as improving the efficiency of space missions, optimizing energy resources, and developing safe orbital movement models. The students’ presentations were met with great interest by scientists and industry experts from around the world.

A meeting was held with the first-year students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Dr. Leyla Mammadova, provided information about the faculty’s activities, academic programs and specializations, skill development opportunities, and career prospects — including collaborations with IT Academies and Code Academy. Within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Global Environment Facility, and the Secretariat of the UN “Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer,” a technical mission was organized to support the reduction of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) regulated under the Kigali Amendment in Azerbaijan and their future replacement with other alternatives. As part of this mission, UNIDO experts visited Azerbaijan to conduct a preliminary assessment of the current situation in the country, as well as the education and human resources capacity. The meetings, organized and coordinated by the Quality Assurance Department, provided participants with detailed information about the essence, objectives, and stages of the accreditation program. It was emphasized that the program aims to ensure that the teaching process at the university aligns with international standards and contributes to strengthening AzTU’s position in the global arena. During the discussions, it was noted that the site visit within the program holds particular importance. At this stage, documents will be reviewed, interviews conducted, and on-site evaluations carried out in line with ESG-2015 criteria. The active involvement of both faculty and students in the process, as well as consideration of their feedback and suggestions, was highlighted as a key factor. The session introduced scholarship opportunities, including programs offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). At the event, AzTU’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, Fariz Mammadov, spoke about the opportunities these scholarship programs create for the university’s academic fields. German language instructor at AzTU, Claudio Kasperl, provided students with detailed information about studying in Germany, DAAD scholarship programs, application requirements, the set of required documents, and selection criteria. He also explained in detail the summer schools organized in Germany for undergraduate students and the application procedures. In addition, Aysel Badalova from AzTU’s International Relations Office gave a presentation on the existing exchange programs at the university and the conditions for applying. The session concluded with a Q&A, during which participants’ questions were answered.      

The event, organized for faculty representatives of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) and the Student Youth Organization (SYO), as well as other active members, aimed to increase students’ awareness and understanding of the capital market and strengthen their knowledge of responsible management practices. The session was delivered by Pərvin Hajiyeva, Senior Lecturer at AzTU, who introduced students to the core principles and objectives of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), codes of ethics and professional conduct, as well as the management of conflicts of interest and related issues. Participants were later divided into teams and engaged in discussions around the topic, fostering collaboration and critical thinking.        

AzTU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Subhan Namazov, and Director of the Research and Development Department, Bakhtiyar Badalov, conducted an official visit to Lahore, Pakistan, engaging with the University of Lahore, the University of Engineering and Technology, the University of Management and Technology, and the University of Central Punjab. The visit provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on potential avenues and strategic directions for collaboration with Pakistan’s leading universities, which are recognized among the top institutions globally. In a meeting with Professor Shahid Munir, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology, one of Pakistan’s largest engineering universities, and his delegation, it was highlighted that collaboration with AzTU is highly valuable and that the university is keen to expand joint initiatives through a Memorandum of Understanding. Staff members of the Quality Assurance Department of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Nərmin Xasayeva and Həmidə Həsənova, participated in the “2nd ADA Symposium on Quality Assurance in Higher Education,” organized by ADA University in partnership with the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (TKTA). The main purpose of the symposium was to bring together representatives working in the field of quality assurance in higher education institutions, creating a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Over two days, local and international experts discussed current issues, global trends, and best practices in quality assurance and accreditation. The sessions and seminars covered topics such as national accreditation, internal quality assurance systems, program evaluation, the quality of teaching and learning, human resource development, sustainability, and project management. At the conclusion of the event, participants were awarded certificates.      

Kamal Həsənli, a second-year student of the Faculty of Special Machinery and Technology at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), has been awarded 2nd place in the “Robomission” category at the 8th National Robotics Olympiad. The Olympiad, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, the World Robot Olympiad Association, and the Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy (AREA), brought together participants aged 8 to 19. Competitors showcased their skills across four categories: Robomission, Robosports, Future Innovators, and Future Engineers.
