Professor Vaqif Hasanov, Head of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), participated in an international scientific-practical conference held in Uzbekistan. The conference was jointly organized by Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction and Tashkent State Technical University named after I. Karimov. At the event, Professor Hasanov delivered a presentation on “Innovative Technologies in Architecture, Engineering, Education, and Environmental Protection”, which sparked engaging discussions among the participants. During the visit, Professor Hasanov toured relevant departments and research laboratories of both universities. In meetings with administrative heads, concrete directions for future cooperation were identified, including: Development of inter-university collaboration Implementation of joint projects Student and faculty exchanges Joint scientific publications Participation in international programs The visit played a significant role in strengthening international scientific relations between departments and exchanging experiences in the application of innovative technologies in engineering.   RELATED GOALS     

The 2nd International Conference on Economic and Administrative Research was held in Türkiye, co-organized by Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The conference was arranged through the collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University and AzTU’s Department of Economics and Statistics. It featured discussions on various fields of economics and administrative sciences. Presentations covered topics such as banking and finance, labor economics and industrial relations, econometrics, economics, statistics, business administration, public administration, finance, and international economic relations. AzTU was represented by Associate Professors from the Department of Economics and Statistics — Natavan Namazova, Director of the Institute for Energy and Sustainable Development, and Aynura Ismayilova, Director of the Lifelong Learning School.   RELATED GOALS    

An event titled “Museums Are Our History”, dedicated to May 18 – International Museum Day, was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in collaboration with the House Museum of Jafar Jabbarli. As part of the event, a mobile exhibition from the museum was also organized. The event was attended by AzTU’s faculty and students, as well as museum and library professionals. The exhibition, prepared by the House Museum of Jafar Jabbarli, featured materials and archival photos reflecting different periods of the great playwright’s literary life and work. It also showcased his previously undisclosed literary works (e.g., “Conquest of Edirne”, “Tripoli War”), political activities (1923–1927), and writings created during his imprisonment. Speakers at the event included the museum director and Jabbarli’s granddaughter, Qamar Seyfaddin gizi, who spoke about Jabbarli’s contributions to Azerbaijani literature, culture, and his role in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918–1920). Within the framework of International Coaching Week organized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) under the slogan “Inspire, Transform, Flourish”, a large-scale event was held for the first time in Azerbaijan. These annual events aim to showcase the positive impact of coaching on individuals, organizations, and communities across the globe. The event began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and brought together officials, members of parliament, university leaders, and top coaching professionals. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev welcomed the guests and emphasized coaching’s importance in modern education and management, highlighting its role in both personal and organizational development. Professor Vagif Hasanov, Head of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), conducted a training session for employees of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI). The training, titled “Publishing Articles in the Scopus Database”, provided detailed information on how to publish scientific papers in international databases, especially in Scopus-indexed journals. The session covered publication processes, journal requirements, and effective strategies for successful submissions. Participants were informed about how to prepare scientific research papers, structure and write manuscripts, format and submit them, and select appropriate journals. At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates of participation.   RELATED GOALS    

An informational session was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for students about the “Brainzy” mobile application. During the presentation, detailed information was provided about the main features, usage guidelines, and development prospects of the Brainzy app. It was noted that introducing the app to students is an important step in expanding its future user base. A seminar was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, featuring Mohammad Valiyev, a Senior Software Engineer at Databricks, one of the world’s leading companies in Big Data. The seminar, attended by bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students studying computer science, computer engineering, and information security, focused on the “Apache Spark” software. Detailed information was provided about its internal components (execution model, stages, tasks) and its application in solving various problems, including audio and video file analysis. The seminar also covered how to store large volumes of data in cloud technology (e.g., Amazon S3) in Delta Lake format, the internal file structure of Delta Lake, and comparisons with other formats like Apache Iceberg.   RELATED GOALS    

Students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) are representing the university with their startups at two major international exhibitions held at Baku Expo Center: the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro.” AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev visited the university’s stand, showed interest in the students’ startup projects, and wished them success.   RELATED GOALS    

On May 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro” at the Baku Expo Center. These exhibitions, now recognized as national brands, are the largest of their kind in the Caspian region within the agriculture and food industries. Participants from many countries, including the USA, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkey, are showcasing their leading agricultural products. As part of the event, President Ilham Aliyev visited the stand of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Selcan Kərimli, a 3rd-year student from the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, introduced the “Nutlab” project to the President. A delegation led by Muhammad Kaleem Asif, Rector of Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The delegation met with Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of AzTU, and university representatives. Welcoming the guests, Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about recent projects implemented at AzTU and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani universities in education and research. Rector Muhammad Kaleem Asif shared information about the work and innovations at FUI. During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest.
