Awareness Session on “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Introduction to Business” Held for AzTU Students
Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), in collaboration with SABAH.academy, organized an awareness session for students on the subject “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Introduction to Business.” The session aimed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and develop their skills in business management. The event featured insights from Professor Alberto Levin of IE Business School. Starting from the Fall 2025 semester, AzTU will introduce the Entrepreneurship and Business Fundamentals course. The course will be delivered in-person and in English, open to students with at least B1 level English proficiency. Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded a joint certificate by SABAH.academy and IE Business School.
AzTU Staff Member Honored with Prestigious ICPC Foundation Awards
The 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, one of the world’s most prestigious programming competitions, was held in Baku from August 31 to September 5, 2025. The event was organized by the ICPC Foundation, hosted by ADA University, and supported by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and the ICPC Azerbaijan Community. This year’s World Finals brought together 139 teams from over 70 countries. At the opening ceremony on September 1, Etibar Seyidzadə, Director of the Institute of Information Technology and Methodological Support in Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), received two of the ICPC Foundation’s highest honors: the “Outstanding Public Service Award” and the “Joseph S. AzTU Showcased at “THE Eurasia Universities Summit”
With the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, and the international ranking agency Times Higher Education (THE), the “THE Eurasia Universities Summit” is being held in Baku. This year’s summit, dedicated to the theme “Transnational Research: From Knowledge to Global Impact,” brings together prestigious higher education institutions from across the world. The Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is represented with its own stand. The delegation, led by Rector Vilayat Valiyev, is holding meetings to strengthen international cooperation, explore transnational research opportunities, and expand inter-university partnerships. The delegation also includes Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov, Director of the Research and Development Department Bakhtiyar Badalov, and Head of the Quality Assurance Office Parvana Movsumova.
Vice-Rector of Namangan State Technical University Visits AzTU
Ilhom Abdurakhmanov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Namangan State Technical University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The main purpose of the meeting was to explore opportunities for future collaboration between the two universities and to further strengthen existing ties. During the meeting, AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Subhan Namazov, provided information on the university’s recent activities. The parties discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including joint scientific research, student and faculty exchange programs, improving universities’ positions in international rankings, implementing dual degree programs, and other areas of mutual interest.
Elsevier’s Official Representative in Azerbaijan Conducts Training on the “Scopus” Platform at AzTU
To strengthen international research development and enhance the university’s scientific performance, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), through the initiative of its Research and Development Department, organized a training session. The training was delivered by Saida Sak, the official representative of Elsevier, one of the world’s leading academic publishing companies. Faculty members, master’s students, and doctoral candidates actively participated in the session. During the training, Saida Sak provided detailed insights into the functionalities of the Scopus scientific database, including methods for article search and analysis, tracking citation indicators, calculating the h-index and other scientometric measures. Participants were also introduced to effective search strategies, research topic selection, opportunities for expanding international scientific collaboration, and the process of submitting articles to high-impact journals. AzTU Rector Visits International Accreditation Agency in Germany
The Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Vilayat Valiyev, led a delegation on a business visit to the International Accreditation Agency (ASIIN) in Germany. ASIIN is one of the world’s most prestigious agencies responsible for accrediting bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in engineering, information and computer sciences, natural sciences, and related disciplines. The delegation also included Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, and Bakhtiyar Badalov, Head of the Research and Development Department. During the meeting, Rector Valiyev highlighted AzTU’s successful cooperation with ASIIN and shared insights on strengthening bilateral relations with German universities as well as enhancing the quality of educational programs.
