Professor Vahid Garousi from Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom, and a member of the World Azerbaijanis Scientists Association (DAAB), will serve as a visiting professor at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At AzTU, Vahid Garousi will teach not only in science and research fields but also in software engineering, including university-industry collaboration. On May 26, an event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in connection with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Education (MSE) and the Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) regarding workforce training for the defense industry. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), together with Turkey-Azerbaijan University and Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology (NUST), jointly organized an international event at AzTU titled “Strategic Talks on Innovation & Commercialization for Knowledge Sharing” (STICKS International 2025). The main goals of the event were to develop university-industry collaboration, commercialize scientific research, support startups, and strengthen international partnerships. The guests met with AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Nurəli Yusifbəyli, and other university representatives. A new wave of support for the initiative on recycling plastic waste and producing filament for 3D printers, carried out by the MGP Group under the Lifelong Learning School of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), came from 8th-grade students of Səttar Bəhlulzadə Foreign Language Gymnasium. During their visit, the students brought the collected plastic bottles to AzTU and handed them over to the MGP Workshop. The students were accompanied by their class teacher Ləman Babayeva and biology and STEAM teacher Ofeliya Həzərxanova. During the meeting, the students observed firsthand the process of sorting plastic waste, recycling, and converting it into filament for 3D printers. MGP engineers provided detailed information about the modern technologies, software, and production stages used in this field and answered many questions from the students. Collaboration Agreement Signed Between AzTU and Malatya Turgut Özal University A delegation led by Professor Recep Bentlin, rector of Turkey’s Malatya Turgut Özal University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU’s vice-rector Nurəli Yusifbəyli and university representatives. Vice-rector Nurəli Yusifbəyli welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure in hosting them at AzTU. He informed the guests about the university’s ongoing work, implemented education programs, current projects, and AzTU’s future goals in science and research. During the meeting, representatives of AzTU and Malatya Turgut Özal University discussed student and academic staff exchanges, joint scientific research, and dual supervision opportunities at the master’s and doctoral levels. A “Capture The Flag” (CTF) cybersecurity competition was organized at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) by the Department of Cybersecurity and the “CyberDEV” cyber club. The event was attended by students studying in the field of information security. The goal was to develop practical skills among students interested in cybersecurity, enhance critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and improve teamwork skills. Participants in the CTF competition completed tasks in various areas such as open-source intelligence, reverse engineering, digital forensics, and cryptanalysis. Such competitions play an important role at AzTU in identifying talented youth in cybersecurity and forming teams that will represent the university in national and international CTF competitions.   RELATED GOALS   

Eyvaz Məmmədli, AzTU’s special representative for work with applicants, and Amin Mamedov, academic advisor of the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology, held a series of meetings with applicants and heads of regional education departments in the cities and districts of Shaki, Ismayilli, Gabala, Oghuz, Zagatala, Gakh, and Balakan. During the meetings, applicants were informed about AzTU’s specialties, the practice-oriented teaching model, industrial internships carried out in cooperation with enterprises, startup activities, and student achievements in these fields. They also discussed the conditions and opportunities created for students to participate in new projects. The university’s international relations, dual degree programs, and academic exchange opportunities were also of great interest to the applicants. Detailed information was provided about special scholarships for high-achieving students admitted to AzTU, as well as incentive mechanisms supporting their personal development and academic success. Staff members of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) — Fuad Daşdəmirov, Director of the Institute of Logistics and Transportation; Qasım Manafov, Head of the Department of Transportation Equipment and Management Technologies; and Associate Professor Nicat Zöhrabov — participated in a scientific-practical conference held at Tashkent State Transport University in Uzbekistan, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor Akmal Anvarovich Mukhitdinov of the Department of Vehicle Engineering. At the event, a gift was presented to Professor Mukhitdinov on behalf of AzTU’s leadership and staff.
