An informational session was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for students about the “Brainzy” mobile application. During the presentation, detailed information was provided about the main features, usage guidelines, and development prospects of the Brainzy app. It was noted that introducing the app to students is an important step in expanding its future user base. A seminar was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, featuring Mohammad Valiyev, a Senior Software Engineer at Databricks, one of the world’s leading companies in Big Data. The seminar, attended by bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students studying computer science, computer engineering, and information security, focused on the “Apache Spark” software. Detailed information was provided about its internal components (execution model, stages, tasks) and its application in solving various problems, including audio and video file analysis. The seminar also covered how to store large volumes of data in cloud technology (e.g., Amazon S3) in Delta Lake format, the internal file structure of Delta Lake, and comparisons with other formats like Apache Iceberg.   RELATED GOALS    

Students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) are representing the university with their startups at two major international exhibitions held at Baku Expo Center: the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro.” AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev visited the university’s stand, showed interest in the students’ startup projects, and wished them success.   RELATED GOALS    

On May 13, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the 30th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – “InterFood Azerbaijan” and the 18th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition – “Caspian Agro” at the Baku Expo Center. These exhibitions, now recognized as national brands, are the largest of their kind in the Caspian region within the agriculture and food industries. Participants from many countries, including the USA, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkey, are showcasing their leading agricultural products. As part of the event, President Ilham Aliyev visited the stand of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Selcan Kərimli, a 3rd-year student from the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, introduced the “Nutlab” project to the President. A delegation led by Muhammad Kaleem Asif, Rector of Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The delegation met with Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of AzTU, and university representatives. Welcoming the guests, Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about recent projects implemented at AzTU and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani universities in education and research. Rector Muhammad Kaleem Asif shared information about the work and innovations at FUI. During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest. After the discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two universities.   RELATED GOALS    

A closing and award ceremony was held for a series of sports competitions among teams from higher and secondary specialized education institutions, organized jointly by the New Azerbaijan Party Yasamal District Branch, Yasamal District Executive Power, and the Youth and Sports Sector of Yasamal District under the Baku City Youth and Sports Department, in partnership with Chairman of the Azerbaijan Pomegranate Producers and Exporters Association, Farhad Qarashov. The event was dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the ceremony by Head of the Department of Humanities, Habib Mirzayev. According to the competition results, AzTU teams ranked 1st in mini football, volleyball (boys), basketball, and table tennis, and 2nd place in chess.   RELATED GOALS    

Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in German Language Teaching” A professional development seminar and webinar on “Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in German Language Teaching” was held for school and university teachers, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Public Union “Teachers of German Language in Azerbaijan” (DLV). The seminar and webinar were presented by Claudio Kasperi and Lətifə Qurbanova. During the 6-hour event, discussions focused on the effective use of artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT in the teaching process, as well as the integration of AI into traditional teaching approaches. As a result of the seminar, participants developed individual teaching plans by integrating the methods and approaches they had learned into their own lessons. At the end, participants were awarded certificates.

An informative seminar on ISO 21001:2018 – Management System Standard for Educational Organizations was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) by the Quality Association. Employees from various faculties and structural units of the university participated in the seminar. The main purpose of the seminar was to provide detailed information about the essence, principles, and application mechanisms of the ISO 21001:2018 standard, as well as to emphasize the role of this standard in establishing and improving quality assurance systems in higher education institutions. During the event, presentations were delivered by experts from the Quality Association, explaining the practical significance of the standard based on real-life examples. A wide-ranging discussion was held on the possibilities of applying the ISO 21001:2018 standard at AzTU, and participants’ questions were answered. A new info session of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (AKM) was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the session, registration was announced open for the 6th wave of training organized jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (RİNN), the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA), and Israel’s Technion Institute of Technology. Aytən Sadıqova, head of AzTU’s SABAH groups, spoke about the importance of developing the cybersecurity field.
