On May 21, the 2024/2025 season of the Azerbaijan Student League in futsal among students of higher education institutions concluded.
The event was attended by Firudin Qurbanov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education and President of the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union; Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee; Araz Pashayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Education Workers’ Free Trade Union Republican Committee; officials from the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association and the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union; and veteran football players.
It should be noted that since 2023, the Azerbaijan Student League has been organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union, with support from the Azerbaijan Education Workers’ Free Trade Union Republican Committee and the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association.
The aim of the league is to promote futsal among students of higher education institutions, identify promising athletes, increase interest in this sport, and form a futsal national team consisting of students.
The 2024/2025 season of the Azerbaijan Student League started on November 29, 2024, and involved 12 higher education institutions competing.
The team of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) finished in second place in the final stage of the league. After the games, an award ceremony was held. Winning teams were awarded medals and cash prizes.
