An event titled “Museums Are Our History”, dedicated to May 18 – International Museum Day, was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in collaboration with the House Museum of Jafar Jabbarli. As part of the event, a mobile exhibition from the museum was also organized.
The event was attended by AzTU’s faculty and students, as well as museum and library professionals.
The exhibition, prepared by the House Museum of Jafar Jabbarli, featured materials and archival photos reflecting different periods of the great playwright’s literary life and work. It also showcased his previously undisclosed literary works (e.g., “Conquest of Edirne”, “Tripoli War”), political activities (1923–1927), and writings created during his imprisonment.
Speakers at the event included the museum director and Jabbarli’s granddaughter, Qamar Seyfaddin gizi, who spoke about Jabbarli’s contributions to Azerbaijani literature, culture, and his role in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918–1920).
AzTU’s Department of Humanities Head, Habib Mirzayev, highlighted Jabbarli’s multifaceted career as a writer, translator, and cinema figure.
Students Sarkhan Mikayilli, Durna Hasanli, and Canpolad Guliyev recited his poems, and alumnus Farhad Rahimli performed songs based on his lyrics. A film about Jabbarli’s life and works was also screened.
