External audit on ISO 21001:2018 standard conducted at the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology

At the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), an important stage in the transition to ISO 21001:2018 – Management System for Educational Organizations was carried out. The external audit was conducted by Yeshim Dincher, Quality Manager and Lead Auditor for ISO 21001 at STAREGISTER International Inc., and Shamo Muradov, Director of INCERT Certification Company.

At the opening meeting, AzTU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Nurali Yusifbayli, welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of adopting the ISO 21001 standard. He highlighted that this process represents a major step toward enhancing the quality of educational services, and indicated that subsequent phases will involve the implementation of additional international standards.

Throughout the day, auditors evaluated the faculty’s management system, educational processes, documentation standards, and internal operational mechanisms.

During the closing meeting, auditors praised the faculty’s efforts. Lead Auditor Yeshim Dincher noted that the management processes implemented at the faculty are aligned with ISO 21001 requirements, and reported positive preliminary audit results.

AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, attending the closing session, emphasized the importance of selecting the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology as a pilot unit for this process. He stated that successful implementation of the standards significantly contributes to the management culture and quality of education at the faculty, and indicated that the standard could be progressively applied across other university structures in the future.

The meeting concluded with mutual exchange of ideas and productive discussions.
