Consistent measures are being implemented at the Transport and Logistics Faculty of Azerbaijan Technical University to ensure sustainable transport and urban mobility. Within this framework, the Department of Transport Logistics and Traffic Safety actively participates in the development of urban mobility plans and continues to strengthen cooperation with other higher education institutions.
To reduce transport load and the number of daily trips, remote and flexible working formats have been introduced at the university. Established remote working opportunities contribute to lowering commuting intensity and transport-related emissions, while also positively supporting staff work–life balance.
Within the campus area, priority has been given to pedestrian mobility. Dedicated pedestrian lanes have been created, traffic signs and road markings have been installed, and parking areas have been systematically regulated. Cooperation with local authorities is ongoing to ensure more efficient solutions for transport and infrastructure issues in the areas surrounding the campus.
In addition, the university has initiated the introduction of environmentally friendly transport solutions to support the development of micromobility. The use of electric scooters is encouraged within the campus, contributing to reduced internal vehicle traffic, lower noise levels, and decreased air pollution, while enabling more flexible movement for students and staff. This approach is considered a practical implementation of green mobility principles at the university.
