A scientific-practical event titled “Application of Biomedical Systems Equipped with Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Brain Surgeries” was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
The event featured an exchange of ideas on the role of AI technologies in modern neuroradiological interventions, the optimization of clinical decision-making processes, and future development directions in biomedical engineering.
Additionally, scientific and technological projects that the AzTU Institute of Biomedical Engineering could implement jointly with Germany were discussed. The parties reached an agreement on joint activities for the development and clinical integration of innovative systems equipped with AI technologies for brain surgeries.
It was particularly emphasized that this cooperation will not be limited to theoretical research but will aim to deliver significant innovations that meet real clinical needs. The German professors stated that they would visit AzTU regularly in the future, supervise ongoing research on-site, and work directly with young researchers.
During a workshop held as part of the event, a new type of stent used in brain surgery was presented. These stents reduce the risk of thrombosis (blood clotting) and adapt easily to the blood vessel. The application of these new stents was demonstrated on an artificial model during the workshop.
It should be noted that this application is considered an important step in terms of deepening Azerbaijan-Germany scientific cooperation and the development of international-level innovations in the field of biomedical engineering and brain surgery in our country.
