On the occasion of May 28 – Independence Day, under the leadership of Professor Sabina Almammedova, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), a debate in English was organized by the teachers of the department, Sanubar Hamidli and Aygul Khalilova, on the topic “May 28 – A Turning Point in the History of Azerbaijan” for the 1st year students of the Faculty of Special Technique and Technology, Metallurgy and Chemical Technology, and Economics and Management.

The two-hour debate began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. During the event, the students were informed about the historical development path of independent Azerbaijan and the personalities who played a role in the founding of the country.

The students also had the opportunity to improve their English speaking and public speaking skills.

At the end of the event, the students demonstrated their creativity and prepared banners on the topic.

At the end, the participants were presented with certificates.
