A webinar entitled “How is Business Managed?” was held with the initiative and support of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The main goal of the webinar was to test both the language skills and business knowledge of students through a creative and interactive presentation.

At the webinar, the II(24) - I2 and II(24) - I3 groups of the Faculty of Economics and Administration gave a presentation in English consisting of 4 parts (structure, culture, communication and success).

In the structural part of the presentation, each student provided information about a department within the company and explained the main duties and functions of the relevant department.

In the cultural part of the presentation, the importance of a sensitive approach to cultural differences in international business was discussed. The students reenacted a business meeting scene where cultural misunderstandings can cause problems. Then, businessmen representing five different countries gave short speeches about the business culture of their countries.

The communication section emphasized the importance of choosing the right tone of voice in business communication, especially in email correspondence. In a staged episode, an employee asked a colleague to check an email he had written and together they improved the letter. Then, the “golden rules” of business email correspondence were discussed.

The final part of the presentation, titled “Success,” emphasized the key qualities that lead to success in business.

At the end, a certificate was presented by Professor Sabina Almammedova, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages.
