On the eve of May 28 - Independence Day, in order to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism, interactive lessons in the format of city excursions were organized by the Russian language teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on May 5 and 7, 2025. The lessons were held at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and the house museum of the prominent public figure, philanthropist Zeynalabdin Tagiyev.

In accordance with the curriculum, a lesson on the topic of “City Tour” was organized for first-year students. Students prepared presentations on historical and architectural monuments located in the center of Baku and in the Old City, and presented this information directly during the excursion, demonstrating both their language skills and knowledge of patriotism.

Second-year students got acquainted with the lesson material on the topic of “History of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. Life and activities of the famous philanthropist Z. Tagiyev”.

The lesson was held in the format of a wide and comprehensive excursion conducted by the scientific worker of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan Kh. Turksoy. During the excursion, the students received detailed information about the main stages of Azerbaijani history from ancient times to the present day, including the glorious Victory won under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev in the 44-day Patriotic War.

In the next interactive lesson held at the Z. Tagiyev House Museum, the students had conversations with the excursion leader and got acquainted with the life path and socio-political activities of the philanthropist through the presented historical exhibits and archival photographs.

The teaching staff of the Department of Foreign Languages, under the leadership of the head of the department, Professor Sabina Almammedova, plans to continue the lessons in this format in the future, and to conduct educational excursions aimed at developing students' devotion to the Motherland and practical language skills.
