General objective: The main objective of the project is studying the international experience for increasing the participation of girls in engineering education and engineering-oriented professional fields, identifying opportunities and challenges for women in this field, raising awareness and carry out awareness to increase the participation of girls in engineering education and professions in Azerbaijan, formation of skills and abilities to represent girls in more competitive professions.

AzTU’s obligation:
    • Increasing public awareness to eliminate stereotypes that exist in the society about girls’ engineering education;
    • Conducting training in accordance with labor market requirements to increase competitiveness of the engineering studying girls in the labor market;
    • Formation of the first experience in the field of engineering in order to create the female students’ interest in engineering education.
Tasks implemented by AzTU:
    • A conference on the theme "Everyone is Strong in Engineering" was held in order to promote the participation of girls in engineering education and professions, to increase public awareness by showing the trends, success stories in this field.
    • In secondary educational institutions in Baku, Sumgayit and Khirdalan, trainings were held for 9th, 10th and 11th grade students and their parents who have the role of influencing them to form the girls’ interest in engineering majors. In the training 124 school students from 10 secondary educational institutions from the cities of Baku, Sumgait and Khirdalan participated. Names of trainings and seminars held for students:
    • -STEM - Electronics, design and programming
    • -Engineering design
    • -Python tutorials
    • -Workshop on writing a successful essay on "I will be an engineer".
  • Trainings aimed at increasing the competitiveness of girls in labor market in engineering professions were held for 1st year engineering students of Baku Engineering University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Baku Higher Oil School.
  • A series of seminars were held under the title of Career Days for students with the aim of increasing their preparation for the labor market.

Names of trainings and seminars held for students:
- Training in project management and MS Project
- Data Storytelling: The Basics. Useful Techniques. Tools.
- Python tutorials
- Seminar on "How future engineers should be trained ".
- A workshop on developing successful CVs and cover letters.
 
In total, 64 students from 4 higher education institutions had
participated in the trainings.
