Following the Action Plan for 2024 at Azerbaijan Technical University, aligned with the designation of 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a session was conducted at the Institute of Sustainable Development. This session brought together teachers and students from the Faculty of Economics and Management to delve into the theme of "Transition to economic and ecological sustainable development."

Ayten Shikhiyeva, the senior teacher of the Department of Economics and Statistics, delivered a presentation focusing on the environmental facets of sustainable development. This included discussions on the criteria for environmental protection policies, strategies for efficient utilization of natural resources, components of environmental management systems within enterprises, and key indicators for assessing environmental and natural resource usage.

Subsequent to the presentation, participants engaged in discussions encompassing topics such as the classification of ecological challenges, exploration of alternative solutions to ecological issues, advancement of technologies aimed at minimizing waste and resource consumption, consideration of technological adaptations, and the implementation of direct measures for nature conservation.
