At the initiative of the Department of Chemistry, Technology, Recycling and Ecology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), measures are being implemented to reduce the impact of laboratory-origin chemical waste on water bodies. The waste is collected according to classification and sent to appropriate facilities for processing. Each laboratory staff member is instructed on the proper sorting and storage of waste, while students are educated in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 14 (Life Below Water).

Within the framework of the project, seminars have been held on environmental protection and the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems.
