Nijat Huseynov was born on July 20, 1998, in Sumgait city. He completed his secondary education at Sumgayit City School No. 31 named after Yusif Mammadaliyev.

 

From 2015 to 2019, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering at Sumgayit State University. In 2019–2021, he completed his Master’s program in Automation and Electric Drive of Industrial Installations and Technological Complexes at the same university.

 

He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Systems and Complexes. His dissertation topic is dedicated to “Developing methods to improve the efficiency of operating modes of smart technology-based distribution electrical networks and equipment.”

 

Between 2016 and 2019, Nicat Huseynov served as the Chairman of the Student Youth Organization at Sumgayit State University, and from 2019 to 2021, he worked as a Computer Specialist at the Sumgait City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. From 2021 to 2023, he was employed at “Azerishiq” OJSC as a Protection Relay Engineer, and from 2023 to 2025, as a Lead Engineer.

 

Since 2021, Nicat Huseynov has been actively engaged in scientific research in the field of electrical engineering. By the decree of the Rector of the Azerbaijan Technical University, Prof. Vilayat Valiyev, issued in 2025, he was appointed Acting Director of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development. Additionally, since 2024, he has been working as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering.

 

His scientific activity covers areas such as electrical power engineering, optimization of distribution networks, implementation of smart technologies, and improvement of energy efficiency. Nicat Huseynov is the author of around 20 scientific articles published in local and international journals.

 

He has been a member of the New Azerbaijan Party since 2016.

 

He is married and has one child.
