General Information
The Department of Defense Systems and Technological Integration was established as part of the Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology on the basis of the Radioelectronic and Aerospace Systems and Special Purpose Materials and Means Departments, which were abolished by the decision of the Scientific Council of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) dated July 05, 2025.
The main goal of the department is to prepare highly qualified engineering personnel necessary for the development of the modern defense industry, as well as to ensure the teaching and application of advanced technologies.
Two main areas of the department's activities are considered priorities:
Design, production and operation of defense systems: students' acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, training of specialists who meet the requirements of the national defense industry.
Technological integration: application of advanced scientific and technical solutions to the industrial and production environment, integration of new technologies into engineering processes and development of innovative approaches.
The establishment of this department aims to further strengthen defense industry-oriented education and scientific research at AzTU, as well as to raise university-industry cooperation to a new level.
Objectives
· Training qualified engineering personnel who meet the needs of the modern defense industry;
· Instilling theoretical and practical knowledge in the design, production and operation of defense systems in students;
· Ensuring the integration of advanced technological solutions into the industrial and production environment;
· Directing the results of scientific research to application and commercialization;
· Strengthening university-industry cooperation and supporting the development of innovative approaches.
Tasks
· Development and implementation of modern educational programs on defense systems;
· Organization of laboratory and experimental training, improving students' practical skills;
· Preparation of new textbooks and methodological aids in relevant fields;
· Implementation of joint projects with defense industry enterprises and involvement of students in production experience;
· Study of international experience and integration of advanced technologies into the activities of the department;
· Expanding the use of digital and innovative technologies in the educational process;
· Supporting the scientific activities of young researchers and doctoral students.
