By the decision of the Scientific Council of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the departments of Hydraulics and Heat Engineering and Electrical Power and Power Supply Systems were merged in 2020, and the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies was established on the basis of the 2 departments.
The department trains specialists in 1 specialty at the bachelor's level, 1 specialty at the master's level, 5 specializations, and 3 specialties at the doctoral level
Laboratory
The department conducts research in both educational and scientific research directions, using the "Renewable Energy Sources" laboratory as the main direction, and at the same time, using 2 wind turbines with a capacity of 2kW and 4 solar panels with a capacity of 250W each installed on the university territory. In addition, the department also operates laboratories for the basic disciplines of the current specialties: "High Voltage Technique", "Heat Technique", "Refrigeration Technique", "Thermal-Physical Properties of Substances", "Air Conditioning".
