Institute of Logistics and Transport

The Institute of Logistics and Transport assumes the responsibility of overseeing and facilitating the execution of master's theses and doctoral dissertations, ensuring alignment with production-centric thematic mandates and scholarly standards.

Aligned with the strategic imperatives delineated in the State Program for Traffic Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan spanning 2019–2023, the Institute of Logistics and Transport hosts the Scientific Research Center for Road Traffic Organization and Safety.

The Institute of Logistics and Transport actively engages in the execution of projects, delineated by mandates from state programs and private enterprises, intended for realization within the domain of logistics and transportation in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In alignment with this objective, the institute fosters close collaborations with preeminent transportation entities within the republic, including the Baku International Sea Port, Absheron Logistics LLC, and the Azerbaijan Ground Transport Agency (AYNA), along with their respective affiliates.

The projects undertaken by the Institute of Logistics and Transport benefit from the expertise of seasoned professionals within the relevant domains across the Republic. This cadre of specialists includes esteemed professors and instructors affiliated with departments focusing on transport logistics and traffic safety, as well as those specializing in transport equipment and management technologies.

Pursuant to Decision No. 25 issued by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 22, 2022, concerning the development of intra-city mobility plans, the Institute of Logistics and Transport at Azerbaijan Technical University is spearheading the formulation of such plans across 16 municipalities within the Republic of Azerbaijan. These municipalities include Shirvan, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Lankaran, Sheki, Naftalan, Shamkir, Guba, Tovuz, Gusar, Bilasuvar, Masalli, Khachmaz, Goygol, Goychay, and Agjabedi. To this end, comprehensive surveys among the populace and meticulous monitoring of the transportation network were conducted in the aforementioned municipalities during April and May of 2023. Both undergraduate and graduate students specializing in relevant fields were actively engaged in these surveys and monitoring activities. Prior to their involvement, these students received specialized training to equip them with the requisite skills for conducting such endeavors. Following the analysis of survey and monitoring outcomes, deliberative sessions were convened to engage with and seek input from the respective municipal populations.

The Institute of Logistics and Transport has actively participated in the execution of several noteworthy projects, including:

 1. CRENG (Erasmus K2+) (Crisis and Risk Engineering for Transport Services) master's program.

2. Development of decision-making frameworks aimed at enhancing the comprehensiveness and quality of public services, with a pilot focus on the transportation sector in the Absheron and Gobustan regions.
