Institute of Logistics and Transport

The Institute of Logistics and Transport has been operating since September 2021.

The Institute includes the "Traffic Organization and Safety Scientific Research Center" created within the "State Program for 2019-2023" on traffic safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the CRENG Service Office created within the ERASMUS program, and the "Center created to provide project-based education" ” operates.

The main activity of the Institute of Logistics and Transport is to conduct scientific research in the field of logistics and transport, to participate in international and local projects in the field of logistics and transport, to support the scientific research of doctoral students, dissertations and masters, to direct dissertations to the solution of real problems of production, to ensure the organization of project-based education, to help the training of high-level scientific personnel by following scientific achievements and innovative technologies in the field.

Currently, the Institute of Logistics and Transport is headed by associate professor, PhD Fuad Dashdamirov. One senior researcher and two junior researchers work in the institute. It is headed by Allaz Aliyev, candidate of sciences, Docent of the Department of Transport Logistics and Traffic Safety at the "Traffic Organization and Safety Scientific-Research Center".

 

Supply:

- A CRENG laboratory was established at the institute to teach the academic version of the "Anylogic" simulation program to masters and use it in research.

- The process of acquiring the academic version of the PTV software package to be used in the preparation of the intra-city mobility plan, as well as in the teaching process, is nearing completion.

 

Projects:

- During the 2021/2022 academic year, the Institute of Logistics and Transport implemented the project "Development of the concept for the organization of taxi service in Azerbaijan on a digital platform". Teachers and students of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics were involved in the implementation of the project.

- In accordance with the Resolution No. 25 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 22, 2022, for the cities of Shirvan, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Lankaran, Sheki, Naftalan, Shamkir, Guba, Tovuz, Gusar, Bilasuvar, Masalli, Khachmaz, Goygol, Goychay, Agjabedi. In order to support the preparation of the intra-city movement (mobility) plan, joint work is being done with the relevant structures of the mentioned cities. In order to increase the effectiveness of the preparation of the mobility plan, an online seminar was organized in March for the project managers of the respective cities. The Institute of Logistics and Transport continues to cooperate with the executive structures of these cities in the process of preparing a mobility plan for these cities. Starting from September 2022, it is planned to conduct surveys in cities to study the needs of the population regarding mobility.

- The Institute of Logistics and Transport has started the implementation of the project with the aim of providing mobility in the territory of Icherisheher.

- During the 2021/2022 academic year, the staff of the Institute of Logistics and Transport prepared a training manual to be used in training for the purpose of increasing the professional level of drivers of trucks operating in international transportation based on the order of Unicer LLC.

- Institute of Logistics and Transport closely cooperates with the relevant structures of Tashkent State Transport University, Ankara Gazi University, Kyiv State University of Infrastructure and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Technical University of Berlin, Technical University of Georgia.
