In the Strategic Development Plan of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for 2024–2030, strengthening international cooperation, expanding integration into global academic networks, and reinforcing the institutional foundations of internationalization activities have been identified as key development priorities of the University. In line with these objectives, the Department of International Relations of AzTU operates as a core structural unit responsible for managing cooperation with foreign partners, coordinating international projects, and ensuring the University’s representation in the global educational space.
The Department covers all stages of AzTU’s international activities and ensures the systematic establishment of cooperation with foreign universities, research centers, and multinational companies. The signing of bilateral and multilateral agreements, the formation of scientific-research and education-oriented partnerships, and the development of joint initiatives with partners constitute the main areas of the Department’s work. At the same time, the University expands its educational and research opportunities by ensuring active participation in international grant and project programs.
The Department of International Relations organizes the participation of AzTU faculty members and students in education, internships, seminars, and scientific activities abroad. In addition, the department's scope of activity includes inviting foreign specialists to AzTU and managing this process.
The recruitment and preparatory training of international students are an important component of the University’s internationalization strategy. The Department supports foreign citizens in pursuing education at AzTU, coordinates the admission process, and oversees documentation, accommodation, and adaptation stages. Furthermore, measures are taken to organize preparatory courses for international students, enhance language skills, and ensure academic adaptation, with these processes being structured in accordance with international education standards.
AzTU is actively represented at international scientific, academic, and business events, participates in congresses and conferences, and organizes receptions and meetings for foreign delegations. These activities contribute to enhancing the University’s international reputation, expanding its network of cooperation, and achieving the University's overall strategic goals.
