Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) warmly welcomes international students from all over the world. We offer a unique educational environment and experience to our international students, including opportunities to work with leading academics and cutting-edge laboratories. 

Prospective international students interested in studying at Azerbaijan Technical University have to register on the portal.edu.az website, upload the required documents, and submit their application through the portal. The applicants can track the status of their application directly on the platform. 

List of the Required Documents:

1. Passport scan (with a validity period of at least two years from the indicated date);

2. Medical Examination Report including the results of Hepatitis B, C and HIV

3. An apostilled (legalized) document confirming previous education, such as a diploma, along with the corresponding academic transcript.

4. Passport size photo (3x4);

5. Copies of honorary awards, certificates, diplomas and other such documents (if any)

6. Motivation Letter;

7. Language proficiency certificate (desirable): Certificate of English language proficiency (minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS or 40 in TOEFL for undergraduate level, minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS or 50 in TOEFL for further education levels, if available)

The submitted application is reviewed by the International Student Admissions Office of the university. Applicants who meet the admission criteria and are shortlisted will be invited to an interview with members of the Admissions Committee. The interview is conducted to assess the candidate’s language proficiency for the specific program. Applicants who do not meet the language proficiency requirements may apply for the Foundation Courses offered by the university. These programs provide intensive language training in Azerbaijani, Russian, or English.

Foreign applicants who wish to study in English-taught programs are exempt from language proficiency testing if they have obtained sufficient scores from an accepted international English language test: a minimum of IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 40 for undergraduate programs, and IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 50 for graduate or further education levels.

Important Note:  It is necessary to have the previous educational documents obtained from foreign countries recognized during the first semester of bachelor's and master's degree programs in Azerbaijan. Recognition of qualifications of foreign countries means confirmation of the validity of any document, diploma or other certificate issued by the competent authorities of foreign countries in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The recognition is provided by the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and is paid. Applicants will pay AZN 250 for the acceptance and examination of documents for recognition of qualifications acquired in foreign educational institutions.
