Associate professor Yadullah Babayev

Associate Professor Yadullah Babayev graduated from Secondary School No. 178 in Baku in 1992. In 1998, he received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Süleyman Demirel University (Turkey). In 2000, he completed his Master’s degree at Azerbaijan Technical University. In 2007, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) by Dokuz Eylül University (Republic of Turkey).

Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Sciences (D.Sc.) degree with a research focus on “Mechanical Properties of Composite Polymer Materials Modified with Nano-Sized Metal Powders.”

Dr. Babayev’s research interests include the mechanical and tribological properties of nano- and micro-structured materials, powder metallurgy, modeling of physical and technological processes, and the investigation of composite materials resistant to mechanical loading. He is the author of more than 50 national and international scientific publications and conference proceedings. His research findings have been published in internationally indexed journals, and he has participated in several research projects supported within the frameworks of TEMPUS Programme and Erasmus+, as well as projects funded by BP Azerbaijan.

Dr. Babayev has over 25 years of academic and scientific experience. He has held positions as lecturer, head of department, dean, researcher, and technology transfer specialist at various higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Nigeria, and the United States. In 2015, he conducted postdoctoral research under the Fulbright Program of the United States Department of State.

At present, he serves as both Dean of the Faculty and Director of the Technology Transfer Office at Azerbaijan Technical University.

Dr. Babayev is also actively involved in the teaching process. He has delivered courses in the following subjects:

  • Fundamentals of Design
  • Strength of Materials
  • Theoretical Mechanics
  • Finite Element Method
  • Engineering Graphics

The courses he teaches aim to develop not only students’ theoretical knowledge but also their practical thinking and analytical skills.

He is actively engaged in organizing the university’s innovation activities, fostering industry collaboration, and promoting technology commercialization. As Head of the Technology Transfer Office at Azerbaijan Technical University, he oversees the development of joint industry projects, the advancement of technoparks, support for startup and spin-off initiatives, and the establishment of the TTO in accordance with ISO 56001:2020 Innovation Management Standards.
