General objective: The main objective of the project is implementation of personnel training with modern knowledge and skills in the field of risk and crisis engineering in transport services oriented towards the needs of the industry and setting up an appropriate platform to carry out personnel training by taking into account the changing requirements in this field.

Tasks of the project:
  • Development of a new master's program and teaching materials on crisis and risk engineering in transport services;
  • Implementation of the pilot education on the new master's program;
  • Opening new study program at master degree in crisis and risk engineering in transport services at the target universities of the project and perform their accreditation according to the domestic requirements;
  • Development and use of "project-based learning" methodology in the teaching process;
  • Opening a service office and laboratory for crisis and risk engineering in transport services and drawing up its action plan;
  • Purchasing necessary equipment for the service office and laboratory and delivering them to the university;
  • Establishing University-Industry cooperation and starting personnel training based on the "skills wallet" approach, which includes personnel training according to the requirements of the industry within the work of the service office.
  • Preparation of methodical tools on risk and crisis engineering.
Tasks implemented by AzTU:
  • A pilot education was executed with the addition of new subjects into the major on "Risk and crisis engineering in transport services".
  • New study program at master degree on "Risk and crisis engineering in transport services" was opened and student admission started from the 2021/2022 academic year.
  • Educational materials have been developed for 13 courses included in the new curriculum.
  • Trainings were organized for the academic staff involved in the teaching process and their participation was ensured in the trainings held at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany (September 9-20, 2019) and Warsaw University of Technology in Poland (November 25-December 6, 2019).
  • In order to be widely applied in the educational process, the "Projects Based Learning" methodology was developed in accordance with international practice and was applied in the teaching of the subject of risk and crisis engineering in transport systems in the spring semester of 2021.
  • Methodical resources on risk and crisis engineering have been prepared.
  • A CRENG service office and laboratory equipped with modern computer equipment and simulation software was opened at the university. Currently, the resources of the laboratory and knowledge center are used in the teaching process and development of projects aimed at the needs of the industry at the Institute of Transport and Logistics operating under the Azerbaijan Technical University.
  • The "Skills Wallet" methodology was developed in accordance with international practice to carry out personnel training according to the needs of the industry, and a cooperation agreement was signed with 8 enterprises to establish cooperation in the field of transport.
